Chairman Dr. Kanishka Pandey had the privilege of meeting V. K. Singh — Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram, former Chief of the Army Staff, and one of India’s most distinguished military leaders.

A decorated soldier, strategist, administrator, and public servant, General Singh’s journey reflects discipline, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to nation-building.

The interaction revolved around the immense sporting potential of the North East and the role that the FICCI Sports Committee and various stakeholders can play in building a stronger and more structured sporting ecosystem in the region.

The North East possesses extraordinary passion, natural talent, resilience, and sporting spirit. With stronger grassroots systems, sports education, infrastructure, talent pathways, and long-term vision, the region can emerge as one of India’s greatest sporting powerhouses — not merely in terms of medals, but as a model of how sports can transform communities, youth aspirations, identity, and regional development.

Football with a message.

Under the ongoing Ghaziabad District League, Sports: A Way of Life continues to deliver the message of “Let’s Play” as part of the Sports Literacy Mission.

The idea is simple yet powerful- to encourage participation, promote sports culture, and remind every child and citizen that sports are not just about competition, but about community, character, teamwork, and life itself.

If a child can learn A for Apple and B for Boy, why not A for Athletics and B for Basketball?

A moment of immense pride and fulfilment for us as we witnessed the National Launch of Sports Alphabet Booklets in 21 Languages at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi — a vision nurtured over a decade. These booklets have been developed by our Chairman Dr. Kanishka Pandey.

This initiative is about embedding sports into the very foundation of learning — shaping not just students, but individuals with discipline, leadership, and a love for play.

Grateful to Shri Kalraj Mishra Ji for his guidance and presence, and honoured by the support of esteemed dignitaries including MPs from across India and Nepal.

For the first time, one idea, one platform, 21 languages — celebrating India’s diversity and a shared commitment to building a stronger sports culture.

This is not just about books.
It is about changing mindsets, building culture, and inspiring a generation to choose playgrounds over screens.

Sports is not just played. It is led. It is built.

At Sports: A Way of Life, we are proud to see our Chairman, Dr. Kanishka Pandey, leading conversations that are shaping the future of sport in India.

A high-level Round Table on “Building Uttar Pradesh as a Global Sporting Destination: Culture, Performance & Infrastructure for Hosting International Sporting Events” was successfully organised by the FICCI Sports Committee – Uttar Pradesh Chapter, in association with the Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association and IMT Ghaziabad.

The discussion brought together key stakeholders from across the ecosystem, including Rachana Govil (Co-Chair, FICCI Sports UP), Anadeshwar Pandey (Secretary General, UP Olympic Association), industry leaders like Pranav Kohli (Stag International), Shiv P. Singh (Shiv Naresh), JKC Sports, Aditi Chauhan (Former Indian Footballer), along with Anirban Chatterjee, Pranav Yadav, and other experts.

Dr. Pandey emphasised a powerful idea:
Global sporting success is not built overnight—it is the outcome of a strong, integrated ecosystem.

From culture to performance to infrastructure, the vision is clear.
Now, it’s time to build.
