Here is the data knee isometric data measured using force plates
Right knee -4.52 N/kg
Left knee -3.8 N/kg

Its clearly evident in the picture, the top picture is the left leg ,notice how he sinks lot in the stance phase as compared to the bottom one
Also in the bottom picture shin angle changes immediately after landing because of being stiff

He braces his front leg but decelerates a lot on last 3 steps is it because he isn’t strong at the knee joint and his body fees he can’t brace with the added momentum
( you can’t accelerate fast if you have weak breaks, this means I need to work on his hardware) or
2.is it because he doesn’t have the feel to bowl without loosing momentum(this means I need to work on the software )
Or
3.is it because of vestibular system slowing him down ( means I need to work on creating reserve )

Well you need to program everything but in different phases to create a positive transfer
Only pace-lab coaches can do it

Great performance by our quick .singh_ yesterday
shout out to .varinder ,he has done brilliant work with him over the last 6 months
He came to us at 73 mph last year ,the fastest he bowled was 85 mph on tv
This was all possible because of masters guidance and support

Brilliant performance by my quick in practice match against Zimbabwe A
Expecting a call for USA tour where he can make an international debut for Nepal
I was able to make impact on his career because of masters knowledge

Good improvement by one of my quick
The things we improve over 2 months of period are
1) speed reserve(his 40 metres sprint speed is faster now which means his 90 percent effort earlier is his 80 percent now
2)unilateral peak force numbers have risen significantly measured using force plates getting him to be more stronger and stiffer of the backfoot
3)as a result of above his gct at backfoot has shorten significantly from .18 to .155
Measured using
Assessdontguess

coaches do you actually know if your drill is working or not?
Here I have attached the data pictures taken pre drill and during impulse stride mat drill using TWEEK wear
The difference in the numbers tell the whole story ,the quicks gcts reduced and stride speed increased also the negative forward bend angle reduced on impulse stride and his pace was 3 mph higher
I CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY NOW YES THE DRILL IS WORKING

Your body will always behave the way you train it,for example if you are doing heavy strength training you will feel strong but at a same time you will slow and sluggish
Here are some of the pre and post strength phase pictures on bfc ( left ones are pre and right ones are post of the same quicks)which is clearly indicating more bend at knee hip and ankle joints
which causes leakage further up the chain
I am not saying strength is not essential but you should know when and how much strength stimulus is necessary which doesn’t hinder your skill

THE LAUNCHPAD CRICKET ACADEMY

It’s only a single speed day for my hip dom in strength focused phase
He is doing triphasic training ,2 weeks of each contraction twice a week ,one day of speed and 3 days of conditioning and also technical work
The volume of strength to speed is 60-40
This will change preseason to 30-70
I have been playing with this kind of periodisation quiet a lot now and seeing massive results it’s because quick feels confident doing more of what they are built for preseason

Also speed days are everytime autoregulated ,they will sprint until their speed drops off by 5 percent
Because If you are training below 95 percent of max then you are not training speed

(Stiffness at ankle but compliance at knee )

Stiff back foot contact is directly correlated to braced front leg which is correlated to high ball velocity
The fastest bowlers maintain speed of momentum upto front foot contact as the master says
THE SAME HAS BEEN SEEN USING TWEEKLAB WEAR at our Chandigarh worlshop
2 of the fastest at the camp bowled 84mph(ipl and Ranji trophy player)
Ipl player was hip dom and his gcts were .13 at bfc and other was knee dom who’s gct at bfc was .15
Hip dom had system stifness but the knee dom had stiff ankle but a compliant knee as I posted the last time

It’s easier to change technique immidiately than making that change permanent
Permanent change can only occur
1)creating feel is necessary than verbal inputs because your brain doesn’t remember the verbal input it remembers the fee
2)doing same drill over and over again won’t help as your senses adapt to the it ,the changes you felt day one won’t be the same if you are doing the same drill for month over month
Repeating the same drill also creates boredom,

Let the drill be your subconscious coach, your mind doesn’t remember verbal cues , it remembers the feel created
This is the concept on which all the drills designed by the master
I use this drill as feed the mistake for someone who jumps too high (will show it on a different post) and for getting your front leg higher at bfc as shown in this drill

THE LAUNCHPAD CRICKET ACADEMY
Start of a bowling specific phase
Day 1
Oxidative bowling dropping off at 6 percent
Repeat in 4 days (for every 1.5 percent you need to rest a day)
Day 2
Mag focus session
Exogen Lila suit overload bowling dropping off at 4 percent
For a knee dominant it would be exergeine bowling (respect the direction of the force imparted in the ground,a hip dominant would have top speed sprinting mechanics, the forces imparted is vertical that’s the reason we use more wearable weighted overload ,pulling heavy resistance (exergeine bowling)would be suitable for knee dominants as the forces imparted are horizontal

of force imparted

Measuring med ball velocity to provide feedback and improve intent
‘One of the issues with maximal intent is that it is hard to assess. As a coach, it is difficult at times to discern whether or not a given repetition was performed with maximal intent. This difficulty is not just limited to the coach, the athlete themselves may not even be aware that their “full effort”, is not truly a maximal effort. This is why giving quantitative feedback can be extremely useful. How do you know how high you jumped if you didn't measure it? How do you know how fast the barbell moved if there was no velocity readout? As an athlete, it is impossible to discern the difference between what you might have thought as a good rep, and what might actually be a good rep. This is why trying really hard doesn’t mean the rep was good. You want perfect reps as well as effort. An athlete can try really hard to squat as fast as they can, but an extremely high effort rep may go to waste if part of this “high effort” is an alteration in form, which leads to greater horizontal translation and a lower bar velocity. However, if feedback in the form of speed or jump height is given, the athlete can see whether or not their high effort resulted in superior performance. This is how and why feedback, used as an external cue, can lead to positive improvements in adaptations via increased intent.’
