The 17th National Rafting Championship is going to be held at Himachal Pradesh from 20th to 25th March. An 8 person team both men and women from Assam is going to participate in all the format of the competition.
In this regard we would like to thank Mr. Manishankar Ghosh for helping our paddlers with a practice session at River Ganga in their beautiful resort near Debprayag before the start of the event.
We would also like to thank Directorate of Sports and youth Welfare, India Tourism for their support.
Col RS Jamwal Director National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied sports with his Team is on a rafting expedition on the River Brahmaputra. The expdition started on 14th January, 2025 from Gelling, Siang River, Arunachal Pradesh and will finsh at Hatsingimari (Zero Point) Assam. The Expdition will cover 916 Km stretch of the River Brahmaputra. The Team is today crossing Dhemaji, keep an eye on the river you might see them. Wishing the team all the best wishes and happy paddling.

RAWSA successfully finished the Rafting Guide and Safety training program at Sankosh River, Raimona National Park, hosted by the Bodoland Tourism Department, We at RAWSAA express our gratitude to the organizers and best wishes to the paddlers who took part.

: A young woman from Golaghat’s Sarupathar displayed exceptional talent in windsurfing and brought pride to the people of the state.
In the All India Windsurfing Championship 2024, held from June 5 to June 9 in Chennai amidst the Indian Ocean, Nishamoni emerged victorious, clinching the gold medal.

Here are some of the amazing glimpses from recently concluded 'First Aid Training' conducted by the Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Branch.
Participants from different parts of Assam, West Bengal, and Meghalaya came together to learn life-saving skills and techniques to respond to medical emergencies. The training covered a wide range of topics, including CPR, wound care, choking, bandaging and airway obstruction, and responding to heart attacks and strokes.
