Do you have students who practice with a very serious face?
We should be playfully SINCERE instead of stressfully SERIOUS

I started teaching yoga exactly 10 years ago on Sep 5th 2011. I am extremely grateful to the opportunities to teach and all my students over the last 1 decade. This has given a purpose, a vision to my life and I couldn't ask for more. Over 15000 hours of classes and all of them have started on time except 1 class this year that I missed. So I can proudly say 99.95% punctual.
Apart from the punctuality factor, if you ask me what else am I proud of in my journey, I would say the peaceful progress of my students. I have seen students of different backgrounds, different fitness levels, different goals, different health conditions, different age groups etc. While some of them have deeply connected, some of them have been extremely judgemental too. No matter who they were, my focus and priority has been to help them peacefully progress to the best of my abilities. While I have been able to help most of them, honestly with some the teacher student chemistry didn't click. You cannot make everybody happy nor can you always live up to everybody's expectations. Nevertheless everything has been a learning experience for me.
As a teacher I have seen more than 60 of my students start as beginners, grow in their practice over time and become teachers eventually. I am extremely proud of them and wish them all the very best in their careers. Till date over 400 yoga teachers would have experienced at least 1 class with me.
Becoming a teacher is just the beginning of the journey... There is so much more to do and achieve together in the health and fitness dimensions...
Do you have a goal that I can help you with? Let me know in the comments...

Do you hear such statements from potential students?

A thought-provoking article
Four years ago in 2017, one Wednesday evening at 4 pm wearing my black tracks and a white T-shirt, I started off from my house in my car towards a gated community which was 3 KMs away to take the children’s yoga classes from 4:30 PM. After the class finished, I started back towards my studio at 5:35 PM.
I was doing my evening classes when my student Shilpa said “Sir, I am very sorry for the way I reacted today evening”.
I was puzzled and asked, “What happened Shilpa?”.
She said “You were driving very rashly around 4 PM and I was swearing at you. Suddenly I realized that it was you and stopped swearing. I am extremely sorry”.
I replied “If that’s the case then I am sorry for my rash driving. I didn’t realize that I was driving that way. Since I am very particular about being punctual for all my classes, I could have driven fast.”
Her anger towards a rash driver turned into guilt the moment she knew who the person was.
This incident has deeply changed me. Before this incident whenever I would see someone share a yoga video or picture on social media, there was some form of judgement in my mind based on how graceful or jerky the picture or video was. However now I am more interested to know what kind of challenges or obstacles that person has overcome for this accomplishment. For example if I show you a video of a student doing a jerky demonstration, it is common for most people to say that this is not very smooth or this isn’t a big deal. However, If I say that this person had loads of fear within or this person had met with an accident and lost hopes of even doing basic asanas. Would we still judge it the same way or say that this is indeed a miracle for them?
All I am sharing is that the picture or the video out there in social media is only one part of the equation. It doesn’t let us know the physical or psychological struggles of that person. So let us appreciate the unseen efforts behind every success. Let us reduce the hate out there in social media. My appreciation to all of you who are inspiring by sharing their progress stories.
I have also decided to write about the success and the struggles of my students regularly
