Welding repair, grinding marks, wrong alignment, touch up painting, incorrect documentation and repeated NCRs. Some days it feels like you are checking the same defects that you checked last week and the week before.
I understand this very well because I have faced the same situation in my early years. We inspected the job, wrote the observation, submitted the report and moved to the next assignment. But the real issue never stopped.
With experience, I realised one simple truth. Inspection can find the defect, but only integrated work can stop it from repeating.
As QA/QC professionals, when we think differently and use a simple integrated approach, our work becomes easier, our confidence grows and our value in the company increases.
Here are a few habits that can make a big difference in your daily work:
โ Do not just write the defect. Understand why it happened.
โ Check whether the acceptance criteria is clear to the vendor or supervisor.
โ Link every NCR to a corrective action and follow up on the closure.
โ Guide the welder or fitter with simple instructions when needed.
โ Keep your documentation clean and ready. It builds trust.
โ Share one improvement idea with your team every week.
These small actions help you move from an inspector to a problem solver. That is where real career growth begins.
This is also the foundation of the Integrated QAQC approach that I follow. We connect three things in one line.
โ Simple systems
โ Practical training
โ Effective inspection
When these come together, quality problems reduce and engineers get better recognition from their managers, vendors and clients.
On this Quality Week, I want to remind every QA/QC professional that you play a very important role. You protect time, cost and reputation. You create value. And you can build a strong future if you think in the right direction and take ownership of improvement.
If you need guidance on handling repeated issues or want clarity on your career path, you can always message me. I will support you with practical steps that work in real project and shop floor conditions.
Let us think differently, grow confidently and become better every day.

This yearโs theme โQuality: Think Differentlyโ is very close to my heart because I have seen how quality improves only when we change the way we work at the ground level.
In many projects, even after regular inspection, the same problems come again and again. Touch-up painting, welding issues, wrong bolt alignment, loose torque, poor documentation, NCRs without proper action and vendors repeating the same mistakes. This happens not because engineers are not working hard. It happens because the system is finding the problem, but not stopping it at the source.
As QAQC engineers, we play a very important role here. When we think differently and work with a simple integrated mindset, we can stop repeated issues and help our company save time, cost and reputation.
Thinking differently means:
โข Not only finding defects, but understanding why they repeated
โข Writing NCRs with clear action and following up properly
โข Helping vendors learn from every mistake
โข Connecting every issue to cost and time impact
โข Asking for support when needed instead of struggling alone
This is what I mean when I speak about the Integrated QAQC approach. This is not a big or complicated concept. It simply brings systems, training and inspection together in one line so that your daily work becomes smoother and you get better control at the site or vendor location.
I have seen engineers grow very fast when they follow this approach. Their vendors respect them more. Their managers depend on them more. And they become the reason quality problems reduce in the company.
On this World Quality Week, I want to remind every QAQC engineer who follows this page that you can make a big difference. You can help your company reduce rework, improve workmanship and complete projects on time. When the company grows, you will also grow.
I am here to support you in this journey. If you face repeated issues or want guidance on how to stop them, you can always message me. I will guide you step by step with simple methods that have worked for many engineers across India.
Let us think differently, work smart and bring real improvement this year.
