Upward-Facing Dog Pose: Urdhva Mukha Svanasana | RK BODY AND SOUL
Upward-Facing Dog, or Urdhva Mukha Svanasana, can strengthen the arms, open the chest and improve spinal mobility—but only when performed with control.
✅ Press firmly through your palms and the tops of your feet
✅ Keep your legs active and lift your thighs
✅ Draw your shoulders back and away from your ears
✅ Lengthen your neck and open your chest
✅ Engage your core to support your lower back
Avoid collapsing into your shoulders, hunching your back or forcing the movement through your lower spine. If you’re a beginner, practise under the guidance of a qualified yoga instructor.
