Behind the scenes from a recent online yoga session.
There is nothing more exhausting that trying to control the thoughts swirling around constantly in the mind. The more we try to control, the more the thoughts multiply. So in Yoga practice, instead of directly wrestling with the mind, we use the tools of body and breath to calm the mind indirectly. Awareness is the skill we we practice every time we step on the mat.
Yoga Vinyasa flow is meditation through dynamic movement where breath is coordinated and synchronized with the body. The focus and awareness are directed inwards towards the body sensations and the breathing. This is an excellent practice for a restless mind.
