To build a Sports Capital for India - By the People of India

Does India have a Sports Capital?

Every developed country has a sports capital where there is ready infrastructure to host major sporting events of the world such as Olympics, World cup events for various sports such as football/soccer, cricket, badminton,etc., ATP World tours in Tennis, Golf tournaments, etc. For example Melbourne for Australia, London is for UK, Many cities in USA, Moscow is for Russia, Beijing is for China and most recently Dubai Sports City for UAE, etc., are the sports capitals for those respective countries. Similar to this sports capital city in India doesn’t exit as on today where there is a fully integrated infrastructure to host these kinds of events.

What’s missing?

a. An ecosystem, where parents feel sports is an important element for each one to shape the youth for future and there is a career that can be made out of sports.

b. An Infrastructure that can support parents who want to push their gifted children into sports and sustain it till they achieve the highest levels in the sport.

I have a patent pending concept that we would like to implement to create a sports capital for the country which has unique features that would create a ecosystem and Infrastructure to build a sporting country all together where “We live the sports every minute of our day than just watching them”.

Can we play to our strength?

This great country, India has thrived on its highly intellectual population strength to built a reputation around the world by becoming the human resource supplier for various industries such as IT/BPO, Medical outsourcing, etc.

Can we leverage the same strength to become a nation where people can look up to creating any kind of sporting talent in a given sport at a lower cost?

What do we need for this?

a. We need to acquire land in a suitable location where 365 days of the year weather permits to leverage the infrastructure.

b. Government should provide the required support the initiative in various methods from plan approvals to giving sports grants to make this happen

c. Need social funding to execute this project

d. The nation should own this project to create a landmark and example for the rest of the countries in the world, to showcase to the world what we can do in this space.

Finally, I am excited at the idea of building a sports capital for the country by the people of this country for the first time ever in the world.
