A video showing a cab driver ending a trip after a passenger allegedly started smoking inside the vehicle without permission has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread discussion about passenger behaviour and the rights of drivers.
The video, posted on X by Lakshay Mehta, captures the moment the driver confronts the passenger after noticing him smoking inside the cab. The driver questions whether the passenger had asked for permission before lighting the cigarette and clearly states that smoking is prohibited in his vehicle.
"Did you ask me before lighting a cigarette? Smoking is not allowed in my car," he said.
According to the video, the passenger argues that booking the cab gave him the right to smoke inside it without seeking permission. The driver strongly disagrees, explaining that although the vehicle is being used as a taxi, it remains his personal property and his rules must be followed.
Refusing to continue the journey, the driver pulls over, cancels the ride, and asks the passenger to leave the vehicle.
"I am cancelling the ride. I don't want your money. Please get out of my car. I'm a taxi driver, not your servant."
