Another good news for cricket lovers. Chitra Singh Jamwal & Ananya Sharma of J&K were selected by the national women senior selection committee to play in BCCI's Senior Women One Day Challenger Trophy to be played at Chennai from 05th January.

. Well played the centuriaons skipper Kanhaiya Wadhawan & stylish left hand opener Qazi Junaid in the last league match against Goa being played today at Raipur, Chattisgarh.. Kanhaiya has scored a back to back century rate of 164.06. Like a true leader Kanhaiya is leading from the front.
Junaid, a product of talent hunt, made his debut last season. This is his second century.
This team is also in the way of making history.

A befitting welcome to the J&K Senior Women's team that created history by entering the knock out stage and playing the quarterfinals for the first time ever. The team returned to Jammu today. The team is led by Jasia Akhter and Latika Sangwan is the Head Coach of the team.

A proud moment for J&K Cricket. At the end of the league phase, the following players have excelled in Batting stats ( All India rankings):

4 batters figure in the list of 50 highest scorers namely Jasia Akhter, Rubiya Syed, Chitra Singh Jamwal & Bawandeep Kaur. Jasia is second in the list.

Jasia Akhter (165) also ranks 4th in the highest individual score.

Rubiya Syed (134.30) & Jasia Akhter (130) rank 5th & 6th in best strike rate (tournament).

Rubiya Syed(244.82) tops the list of the highest strike rate (innings).

Rubiya Syed (129.50) also tops the list in highest averages. Jasia Akhter ranks 4th with an average of 94.25.

Rubiya Syed with 17x6s is 2nd in highest sixes.

A few more
Jasia Akhter ranks 4th in highest number of 4s and 2nd in number of centuries.

Similarly, the bowlers have also performed well. In the list of 100 highest wicket takers five names figure Bismah Hassan, Ananya Sharma, Sandhya, Sarla, Rudrakshi Chib.

Ananya Sharma tops the list of best strike rates (innings) with 5.80 SR.

Heartiest congratulations to all. Such landmarks are great motivators.

Jasia, Rubia, Chitra at murderous best as J&K crushes Mizoram by 223 runs

KOLKATA, Dec 12: Skipper Jasia Akhtar slammed a thunderous century, while explosive Rubia Syed and solid Chitra Singh Jamwal scored power-packed big fifties and the trio simply butchered the rival bowlers with power, punch and utmost timing as Jammu and Kashmir crushed minnows Mizoram by a big margin of 223 runs in the ongoing Senior Women's One-Day Trophy at 22 Yards, Salt Lake, Kolkata today.

Earlier, batting first, J&K scored a massive total of 353 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.
Jasia showed stellar grit and tenacity to notch up a cracking century. She scored 165 runs off just 111 balls, studded with 20 fours and 8 massive sixes, while Chitra scored 75 off 114 balls with 7 boundaries and Rubia contributed unbeaten 71 runs off just 29 balls with 2 fours and 8 sixes,
In the form openers Rudrakshi Chib (12) and Bawandeep Kaur (😎 fell cheaply.

Tara g Jha was the most successful bowler for Mizoram, who took 4 wickets by conceding 50 runs in her 10 overs, while Mamta Rai claimed one wicket.
In reply, Mizoram bundled out for paltry 130 runs to lose the match by a huge margin of 223 runs.
Felfel Pautu top scored with 48 runs off 75 balls studded with 8 delectable boundaries, while Anita Lodhi contributed 27 runs off 45 balls with 4 fours.

For J&K, Mariya Noorain, Sandhya Sayal and Rudrakshi Chib claimed 3 wickets each, while Ananaya Sharma claimed one wicket.
For her superb batting display Jasia Akhtar was adjudged as the player of the match.

Member-Administration JKCA Brig Anil Gupta and Members Cricket Operations and Development JKCA Mr Mithun Manhas congratulated the team for this big victory and stepping forward for sealing berth in knockout stage.

Sarla Devi becomes the first woman bowler of J&K to take 100 wickets
The lethal medium pacer of J&K Sarla Devi has become the first woman bowler from the UT to achieve the distinction of taking 100 wickets in the Senior Women One Day (OD)Tournament organised by the BCCI. Making her debut in 2013, Sarla has been a leading wicket taker for J&K with her accurate and lethal pace bowling. While she bowls with the right hand, she bats left handed and is not a minnow with the bat as well.
Till the last season she had taken 93 wickets. During the ongoing tournament at Kolkata this season she has so far taken nine wickets and is among the leading wicket takers.
During the last match against the formidable Gujarat she bowled excellently to take four wickets. She thus achieved the distinction of crossing the 100 mark, and establishing a record in the process. She has taken 102 wickets so far and has taken five wickets twice.
She was complimented by the head coach Latika Sangwan and the manager Ravi Dogra immediately after the match. Her achievement has been hailed by the entire cricket fraternity of J&K.
Complimenting Sarla, Brig Anil Gupta, Member Administration of JKCA said that she was a consistent performer and match winner for the senior team. She has represented North Zone also on more than 2 occasions. We hope that she will continue to inspire others with her match winning performances. Mr Mithun Manhas said that such landmarks not only motivate the achiever but also spur the other players in the team and those who follow her. He wished her good luck for the future.

J&K seniors women team humbles another formidable Team in senior Womens OD Tournament

In a thrilling match between J&K and Gujarat at Kolkata, J&K defeated formidable Gujarat by 07 wickets.

The match was delayed due to overnight rain resulting in loss of 11 overs. Thus reducing the match to 39 overs each. J&K won the toss and decided to field.

In an excellent display of fast bowling, Sarla Devi took 02 wickets without conceding a run in the first over itself. Maintaining good line and length, the J&K bowlers kept the Gujarat batters under tight leash and restricted Gujarat to 176 for 9 in the allotted 39 overs. Sarla was the pick of the bowlers with 04 for 30 and ace spinner Sandhya took 02 wickets.

Bisma Hassan, Rubia Syed and Ananya Sharma chipped in with 01 wicket each.

In response to the Gujrat innings J&K Openers Rudrakshi Chib and Bawandeep Kaur gave a solid start to the J&K team with a first wicket stand of 52.

Rudrakshi Chib scored 42 runs, Bawandeep Kaur 32, Chitra Singh Jamwal remained not out with 39 and ace all rounder Rubina Syed scored unbeaten 50 in 38 balls with 04 sixes and 03 fours to seal the victory for J&K with 3 overs to spare. J&K scored 182 for 3 in 36 overs.

For her brilliant all-round performance, Ms. Rubia Syed was declared the Player of the Match.

The Sub Committee members of JKCA have complimented the team for its excellent performance and hoped that the team will continue to perform with the same tempo . The team has yet to play Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Mizoram. It has so far 03 victories against one loss to the Railways.

In a scintillating display of team work and good leadership J&K humbled favourite Baroda in its opening match of Senior Women One Day Trophy in the league phase being played at Kolkata. After winning the toss and putting the opponents to bat J&K women bowled out Baroda for 255 in 50 overs. Fine bowling display by Medium pacer Sarla (2), Rubiya Sayed (3), spinners Sandhya (2) and Ananya Sharma (1) & two run outs were responsible for bowling out the entire opposition in the allotted 50 overs.
In reply, J&K lost two early wickets but a solid third wicket stand between opener Bhavandeep & skipper Jasia stabilised the innings and kept inching closer to the winning score. Ultimately, a quick knock of 50* by all rounder Rubiya Sayed and a classic century, the Captain's knock by Jasia Akhter 124* enabled J&K to score the winning total of 259/4 in just 44.3 overs.
Commending the effort of the team, Brig Anil Gupta, Member Administration JKCA congratulated the team for an emphatic win and exhorted them to continue the winning streak despite the Group having many tough opponents.
Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations and Development, said that following the processes and maintaining good team work is the key to success and he was happy that our Senior Women Team under its new coach is shaping well. Mr Sunil Sethi also complimented the team's performance

Heartiest congrats Abdul Samad, Atif Mushtaq, Avinash Singh, Lone Nasir, Mujtaba Yousuf, Abid Mushtaq, Vivrant Sharma, Shubham Khajuria, Musaif Aijaz, Kunal Chib, Umran Malik, M Ashwin, Yudhveer Singh, Rasikh Salam, Aquib Dar for being selected for IPL auction to be held at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 24th & 25th November.
This is the highest number of JKCA players ever included in the lPL auction. Out of 366 Indian players 134 will be up for grabs during the auction. JKCA wishes best of luck to all its players who will be going under the hammer. For those who missed the cut, there is always a next.

In continuation of its pursuit for excellence and to nurture the young talent, JKCA has begun the final preparatory camp for the J&K U15 Girls team at Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board Stadium Katra. Incidentally, the Shrine Board and JKCA signed a MOU for development of the turf wickets and cricket ground at the existing stadium. It's the first major event after the laying of the turf wickets. The initiative will go a long way in promoting and developing cricket in the region.
During the camp, JKCA will also host the U15 team from Himachal Pradesh and play friendly matches from 08th to 12th November.
After the termination of the Camp, the J&K team will leave for Gwalior to participate in the national tournament organised by BCCI and hosted by UPCA.

J&K defeated Mizoram in the opening match of the Balram Das Tandon U16 tournament at Chandigarh. It's an invitational All India tournament recognised by the BCCI. This year 8 teams are participating to include Delhi, HP, Punjab, J&K, Mizoram, Tripura, Chandigarh A & Chandigarh B.
Backed by a strong all round performance J&K beat Mizoram by an innings and 158 runs bowling out Mizoram for 85 & 101 in response to its first innings mammoth total of 344/6d in 73 overs.
Continuing with his brilliant batting display on the opening day Karanveer scored unbeaten 200 and carried his bat through the innings. He scored the double ton in 206 balls with 8 sixes and 28 fours at a strike rate of 96+. The other star performer was Captain Abhiroop Das with 62.
In the bowling department it was the leg spinners who dominated again with Leggie Usman claiming 5/19.
J&K now faces Chandigarh A which defeated HP in its next encounter on 07th November.
The Sub Committee members complimented the young team and the support staff ably led by the Coach Chetan Dhingra. Rakesh Chopra is accompanying the team as the manager.
