The prestigious tournament will be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands from 22nd July to 1st August 2026.

J&K Hockey Achieves Major Milestone; Two Players Selected for Indian U-18 Probables: Dr. Taran Singh
Jammu, April 2026:
Highlighting a proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir, General Secretary of Hockey J&K, Dr. Taran Singh, announced that two talented players from the Union Territory have been selected among the probables for the Indian Under-18 Menโs and Womenโs Hockey Teams for the upcoming U-18 Asia Cup to be held in Kakamigahara, Japan, from May 29 to June 6, 2026.
Dr. Taran Singh stated that Mr. Varunpreet Singh, who represented J&K in the 16th Hockey India Sub-Junior National Championship 2026 at Rajgir, has been selected for the Indian U-18 Menโs Team. He lauded Varunpreetโs exceptional performance, where he earned the Man of the Match award. The national coaching camp will commence at Bhopal from April 19, 2026, under the supervision of National Coach S. Sardara Singh.
Dr. Taran Singh further informed that Ms. Akshara Dutta, who played in the 16th Hockey India Sub-Junior Womenโs National Championship 2026 at Ranchi, has been selected as a probable for the Indian U-18 Womenโs Team. She was the top scorer of her pool and secured the Player of the Match award twice during the tournament. The womenโs camp will also be held in Bhopal under National Coach Ms. Rani.
Dr. Taran Singh emphasized that this achievement reflects the consistent efforts of Hockey J&K under the leadership of Mr. Gurdeep Singh Sangral since May 2025. He stated that the association has worked tirelessly to revive hockey in the region by organizing tournaments across districts and successfully conducting the J&K UT Championship after a gap of three years.
He further added that Hockey J&K is now witnessing a positive transformation, moving away from past disappointments towards a system based on merit, performance, and transparency.
Dr. Taran Singh congratulated both players and wished them success in the upcoming camps and international assignments, expressing confidence that they will bring laurels to the nation and the Union Territory.

The ongoing Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Hockey Tournament witnessed electrifying quarterfinal clashes, with top teams showcasing exceptional skill and determination to secure their places in the semifinals.
In the opening quarterfinal, Bandhurakh Hockey Club delivered a commanding performance, defeating Khalsa Blue 4โ0. The team displayed excellent coordination and a rock-solid defense to dominate the match.
