1️⃣ PLATO (Programmed Logic for Automated Teaching Operations) originated in the early 1960s as a distributed computer-based learning system at the University of Illinois and was the first generalized computer assisted instruction system. It was developed by a team of many people, initially led by Donald Bitzer.

Test out a new Strategy or Problem-solving Technique. If it leads to a faster result do not Hesitate to Teach your students. If it fails then, you still have explored a path which could Lead to Better Results some other time.

Soil is the very basis for the food we grow as well as for the production of feed, textiles, wood and other materials. It provides us with clean water, hosts biodiversity, recycles nutrients, regulates climate and is part of our landscapes and cultural heritage.

The global crises of climate change, increasing poverty, and losing biodiversity require solutions. Soils for the Future focuses on finding win-win-win solutions to land management problems.
We particularly address problems related to soils - the source of nutrients and water for plant production in agriculture, livestock production, biodiversity conservation, and human livelihoods.

A key indicator of soil health is the amount of its carbon-rich organic matter. We offer management solutions or analyses of data to help people change the way they use the land, whether through agricultural practices, grazing management, fire management, forestry or other activities, to improve soils and to achieve more carbon-rich soils.

Such soils hold more nutrients and water, and thereby improve the productivity and well-being of human communities. Better soils also helps ameliorate variation in climate, such as droughts and extreme rainfall events.
