We are happy and proud to inform you that our young,talented students bagged the first place in AYURNADANAM - 2022 , an all Kerala Bharathanatyam group competition held by 'Sree Mudra Kala Gurukulam' under the patronage of 'Sree Swami Vaidhya Gurukulam.' The students were awarded with the unique "OORTHA THAANDAVAM" statuette studded with an Emerald along with a cash prize of Rupees 50001 and the guru being felicitated with 'Pattum Valayum'

Krishna Janmashtami, also known simply as Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. It is an important festival, particularly in the Vaishnavism tradition of Hinduism.Dance-drama enactments of the life of Krishna according to the Bhagavata Purana , devotional singing through the midnight when Krishna was born, fasting , a night vigil , and a festival on the following day are a part of the Janmashtami celebrations.

This song is an interpretation of Lord Krishna's actions around Gopikas when his mother Yashoda is not around. The Gopikas have a hard time controlling him, and this song is actually quite a funny description of his mischievous, playful nature. Although the song feels like it might come under the Folk or Light music genre, it is in fact a very clever composition that is to be considered purely Carnatic Classical.
