KONG YOUNG IL TAEKWONDO is leaving a mark in the History of Taekwondo.

Living Legend Pioneer Grand Master Kong Young-Il is a South Korean Master of Taekwondo and one of the four original masters of taekwondo of the Korea Taekwon-Do Association. He holds the rank of 9th Dan. Following a career in the South Korean military, he emigrated to the United States of America in the late 1960s. Kong trained in taekwondo under Supreme Grand Master General Choi Hong-hi and Supreme Grand Master Major Nam Tae-hi. Through the late 1960s and 1970s, Grand Master Kong was a key member of the taekwondo demonstration teams that accompanied General Choi Hong-hi around the world. One noteworthy highlight was his being Master Instructor for the USA Government Agency, the FBI. These four practitioners then were considered original to the Taekwondo.

On 14th September 2022 Pioneer Taekwondo Personality Grand Master Pradipta Kumar Roy is the 1st Indian to receive Taekwondo 9 Dan Black Belt recognition from Living Legend Pioneer Great Grand Master Kong Young Il in presence of Prof. Casey Ilsun Kim (CEO, Infra Basic LLC. and Taekwondo 9 Dan), His Holiness Revered Swami Vedatitanandaji Maharaj, Shri Rajnish Dev Burman, IRS, Prof. (Dr.) Debasis Bhattacharyya and many National & International dignitaries. 9 Dan is the most respected & highest honour in Taekwondo.

Prof. (Dr.) T. K. Giri is the 1st Principal of any Dental College in the World, received "Honorary Taekwondo 3 Dan" from Living Legend Pioneer Great Grand Master Kong Young Il.

The South Korean Government declared Taekwondo as national brand for the promotion of its competitiveness in the public as well.

Shri Sujay Kumar Chanda, IPS (Ex Joint Commissioner of Police, Kolkata) received most prestigious International honour "Taekwondo Honorary 3 Dan" from Living Legend Pioneer Great Grand Master Kong Young Il in presence of many National and International dignitaries.
