Chakri Village : After the first visit to the Oraon tribe Community in Rohtas Bihar was very memorable, and after I was immersed in some very excited and positive thinking that I should do something for this Tribe.
Our first attempt was not successful, due to lots of reasons, like network connectivity, transportation issues but these issues are no longer with them and we are very thankful to the Government of India., Chakri is a very small village with a total population of 200 Tribes.
It seems the right time is with us to start a second attempt with new ideas of development, During our first visit, we found sujani (Kantha stitch work) in every home, and they are very comfortable with this craft. We are working on designs for summer2023, planning to finalize the design before the end of this month, so we can visit again in the first week of the new year.
We would request connections to come forward for this Tribe. We need your support to empower them.

Chhath Puja ( Day 3 )
We are celebrating the Biggest festival Chhath Puja with our Rural Knitters and Crocheters Community.
This is the most awaited festival in Bihar (India).
The main purpose of Chhath Puja is to help the Vrattis gain mental and spiritual purity. It is believed that sunlight has cures for various diseases and conditions. Taking a dip in the holy river also has certain medicinal benefits.
This festival is celebrated to thank the Sun God and offer him gratitude because Sun is the source of life for possibly every creature on this planet earth and this festival is just a way to pay tribute to that life support system irrespective of caste, creed, gender and social stigmas.
We wish you all Happy Chhath Puja ๐
