Q. When did you first start running?
Just as the entire country was captivated by pictures of Dalgona coffee and puchka craze from every household,my journey as a runner began during the lockdowns.
Q: What made you take up Running as an exercise/activity?
I started running as an exercise mainly because I wanted to improve my overall fitness level and find a way to stay active.Additionally,I enjoyed the freedom and independence that running provided,allowing me to experience the outdoors and explore different routes in my neighbourhood or city.The fact that running has numerous health benefits such as improving cardiovascular endurance,strengthening muscles and boosting mental well-being also motivated me to take it up as a regular activity.
Q: Which is favorite distance for running ?
The favourite distance for running varies from person to person based on their fitness levels,endurance and enjoyment for a certain distance.My favourite distance is 211k (Half marathon).
Q: What is the best piece of advice you have received regarding running?
To focus on the journey rather than the destination.Embrace the training,the ups and downs,and the challenges that come along the way.
Q: What is your advice to new Runners?
Listen to your body.Pay attention to any pain or discomfort you may feel while running .strengthening your muscles,especially your core and lower body,can improve your running form and prevent injuries.Set realistic goals.break larger goals into smaller milestones and celebrate each achievement along the way.
Lastly,find a running buddy or join a groupRunning with others can provide motivation,accountability and a sense of camaraderie.
Q: Any running related incident / achievement you want to share with us?
NEB Kolkata full marathon 2022 wherein I ran 42.2km with pain in my right ankle.l didnβt let it be a hindrance and completed the course with the support and motivation of my buddies.

My first click to move towards fitness was when I met Milind Somani who is an inspiration, this started my journey and it got better everyday since then

People who inspire me to run has always taught me to just look towards my aim and run.
Q: What is your advice to new Runners? Discipline is the key to being a consistent performer.

My biggest achievement is my journey from being a homemaker to a professional athlete,enjoying my life to the fullest and this is how the world knows me.

Hereβs Sania Khan, now a know face as SANIA in running community and among friends. Entrepreneur in industrial wear and also a boutique owner in Kolkata by profession.
Q. When did you first start running ?
A.Β Started running during lockdown where the gyms were closed and as a fitness freak couldn't sit back putting on weight. That's when I chose to start running in '2021' December, with the modest goal to stay fit and fab.
Q.What made you take up running as an excercise activity ?
A. Running was introduced to me as a total body workout, and no workout is better than running. Apart being active and physically fit running enthusias me being stress free from day to day tensions. It boosts my mood in a positive way to live my day. Though I ws vry much indulged in sports from childhood in basketball, karate, yoga and a gym lover too.
Q.Which is favourite distance in running ?
A. My all time favourite distance is a long distance run, a Half marathon till now where I go on a easy note in zone 3, enjoying my run, exploring new routes, enjoying weather and nature and building up endurance. The best part in long distance run are my negative splits for the last 2 kms .
Q.What is the best part of advice you have received regarding running ?
A. To go slow in zones, building up endurance and enjoy an injury free run all through the life.
Q.What is your advice to new runners ?
A. Go slow, be consistent, improvement will definitely pull you up in no matter of time.
Q.Any running related incident/ achievement you want to share with us ?
A.Once I was in high fever the morning I woke up on the race day and I was hopeless to participate in the registered race for the day, but luckily was influenced and motivated by my co- runners and friends which enhanced my mind and I went for it and yes strongly I finished my race with a PR.
