Bengal Table Tennis Association is the oldest Table Tennis Association of the country established as early as in 1934, Four (4) years prior to the formation of the Table Tennis Federation of India, the apex National Federation to control the game of Table Tennis in the country, in fact, BTTA was prime mover to form TTFI in Kolkata in the year 1938. During it’s 77 years of fruitful existences, BTTA
has earned un-stinted admiration from all concern for their organizational competence and outstanding performance of it’s players at the National and International Table Tennis Tournaments held in India & abroad. Indian T.T. teams virtually composed of players from Bengal in both Men & Women sections. BTTA organized the following International & National Tournaments to their credit and earned praise from all concern for their professional approach and perhaps first time introduced the Sports Management in Kolkata. It will be worthwhile to mention that the initiative of BTTA, Netaji Indoor Stadium was built in 1975 to hold the World Table Tennis Championships.

OUR ACTIVITIES
Registered Players
There are at present more than 1000 players are registered with BTTA and participating in different Tournaments through out the state in regular basis. Affiliated Units
There are 19 District units affiliated to BTTA (viz. Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Coochbehar, Maldah, Nadia, Hooghly, Chandernagore, Howrah, North 24 Parganas, 24 Parganas (South), East Midnapur, Midnapur, Birbhum, Purulia, East Kolkata, South Kolkata & Central Kolkata) under whose direct control all the development activities related to the game of TT are governed. BTTA organizes as many as 50 different Tournaments (Ranking, Inter School, Inter College, Inter Club, Inter Office) through out the year spread over entire the State of West Bengal
Coaching
‘Catch them young’ is the slogan of the Association. In consistence with the slogan, as many as 64 coaching camps are being organized through out the year in Kolkata and different Districts under the watchful eyes of competent coaches. Summer Coaching Camp
BTTA has been organizing Summer Coaching Camp for players of the Age group of 6 to 12 years, uninterruptedly for the last 26 years at Kshudiram Anushilan Kendra for a month in each year with 120 Boys & Girls including 30 Mentally Challenged players. Coaching School – BTTA runs yearlong T.T. Coaching School in Rabindra Sarovar Stadium, Kolkata, which is 1st of it’s kind in India since 1976. Over all performance The T.T. players of the State, during the existence of BTTA, has earned altogether 153 Medals from National arena of T.T. including Gold & Silver
