Distance runners from Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Sikkim at 2019 held in Kolkata.

Team of runners from Darjeeling have travelled on their own to participate in IDBI Kolkata Marathon today. It's so nice to see many long distance runners from our hills of Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Sikkim.

Proud to share with you all the results of IDBI Kolkata Marathon 2019 today:

Tshering Lamu Bhutia (24113) came 3rd in Half Marathon overall category.

Saraswati Rai(10400) 1st in 10km (age category 35 to 45yrs) and 3rd in overall category.

Apsana Tamang(10398) came 1st in 10km (age category 14yrs to 35yrs).

Roshni Rai (10399) finished 10km in Kolkata.

Tshering Lamu Bhutia and Saraswati Rai are the mothers and they both have two kids. Their daughters are attending colleges. These two mothers are inspirations to all of us.

Cricket match was organized by West Bengal Police to encourage a village team.

SportZinger Director Shalako Kenza Foning Lepcha, who played with the team have won "Man of the Series".

It is just the beginning and a conscious effort to encourage players to spend time in cricket. The plan is to take cricket to the smaller ground like this where the ground was in the height of 4500ft. Taking matches to the small cities have worked wonders earlier. It will definitely help to build the popularity of cricket here.
