An exceptional talent and highly respected player, Julie Hayes has captained NSWIS Blues to the WNCL title and cemented herself in the Australian team as a valuable bowler and outstanding fielder, helping them to lift the World Cup in South Africa in 2005.

She represented Australia at the previous World Cup in 2000 and in the 2001-02 Rosebowl Series against New Zealand she took 3 for 18 at the MCG.

She is one of a handful of Australian players to have taken more than 50 one-day wickets in her career, with a best of 4 for 31 against New Zealand in 2003-04 and has previously topped the list of leading wicket-takers in the domestic league.

Belinda Clark was a prominent figure in Australian cricket, both on the field and off, where she seamlessly blended her roles as a player and captain with that of the chief executive of Women's Cricket Australia.

She set a high standard, boasting an average of over 45 in both Test matches and one-day internationals. In 1997, she led Australia to their fourth World Cup victory, but despite scoring 91 in the 2001 final, Australia fell short against New Zealand by four runs.

Clark's opportunity for redemption came in 2005 when she guided Australia to another championship in South Africa, where her team remained undefeated throughout the tournament. She holds the record for the highest one-day score by a woman, achieving 229 runs against Denmark in Mumbai in 1997.

At the Test level, Clark was even more remarkable, with her highest score of 136 made against England in Worcester in 1998. She holds the records for the most Test and ODI runs in Australia, as well as for the most ODI appearances.

She concluded her career following the 2005 Ashes series, but like her male counterparts, she did so as part of a losing team.
