*Arjuna said —*

1. Salutations to you, O Commander of the divine army, O Noble One who dwells on Mount Mandara.
O Virgin, O Kali, O Wearer of skulls, O Tawny One, O Dark and Fierce-eyed One.

2. O Bhadrakali, salutations to you. O Mahakali, obeisance to you.
O Chandi, O Fierce Goddess, salutations to you. O Deliverer, O One of excellent complexion.

3. O Katyayani, O Greatly Fortunate One, O Terrifying One, O Victory, O Conqueror.
O Bearer of the banner with peacock feathers, O One adorned with many ornaments.

4. O Wielder of the loud-sounding spear, O Bearer of sword and shield.
O Younger sister of Krishna, the Chief of cowherds, O Elder One, O Born in the family of Nanda Gopa.

🌺🔱🌺 Śrī Śrī Caṇḍī Curse-Removal (Śāpa-Vimocana) Mantra and Procedure 🌺🔱🌺
This initiation and practice are traditionally regarded as a means of removing spiritual obstacles (śāpa) before undertaking the recitation of the Caṇḍī (Devi Mahatmyam). It is considered by some traditions to be a hidden and important preparatory practice for approaching the immense inner and outer power of the Divine Mother.
Invocation (Viniyoga) 🌺
"Om. For this Śrī Caṇḍī Curse-Removal Mantra, the sages are Brahmā, Vasiṣṭha, and Viśvāmitra; the deity is Śrī Caṇḍikā; Hrīṁ is the seed (bīja), Klīṁ is the power (śakti), Sauḥ is the pin (kīlaka). This is applied for the purpose of removing the curses given by Brahmā, Vasiṣṭha, and Viśvāmitra through the recitation of this mantra."
Hand Nyāsa (Kara-Nyāsa) 🌺

🌺🔱🌺 The Shri Shri Chandi Shapoddhara / Shapabimochana Mantra is an ancient traditional variation of recitation. It is believed that without reciting this, the complete spiritual fruit of the Chandi Path is not attained. It is regarded as the key to entering that boundless divine power. 🌺🔱🌺
Viniyoga (Statement of Purpose) 🌺
Om. Of this Shri Chandi Shapoddhara Mantra,
Brahma, Vasistha, and Vishwamitra are the sages.
Shri Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati are the deities.
Hreem is the seed (bija), Shreem is the power (shakti), and Kleem is the pin (kilaka).
This is applied in the chanting of the Shri Chandi Path for the destruction of curses and the attainment of all siddhis (spiritual accomplishments).॥
Karanyasa (Sanctification of the Hands) 🌺
Om Hreem — salutations to the thumbs.

surrounded and worshipped by the gods,

অনেকেই “মল মাস” বা “অধিক মাস” নিয়ে বিভিন্ন প্রশ্ন করেন। তাই বিষয়টি সহজভাবে তুলে ধরার চেষ্টা করলাম।

মল মাস বা অধিক মাস কী?

হিন্দু চান্দ্র পঞ্জিকা চাঁদের আবর্তনের উপর নির্ভর করে তৈরি। সেই হিসেবে একটি চান্দ্র বছর প্রায় ৩৫৪ দিনের হয়। কিন্তু সৌর বছর হয় প্রায় ৩৬৫ দিনের। ফলে প্রতি বছর প্রায় ১১ দিনের একটি পার্থক্য থেকে যায়।

এই পার্থক্য সমন্বয় করার জন্য প্রায় তিন বছর অন্তর পঞ্জিকায় একটি অতিরিক্ত মাস যোগ করা হয়। এই অতিরিক্ত মাসই “অধিক মাস”, যা অনেক জায়গায় “মল মাস” বা “পুরুষোত্তম মাস” নামেও পরিচিত।

কেন এই মাসে শুভ কাজ এড়িয়ে চলা হয়?

শাস্ত্রমতে, যে মাসে সূর্যের কোনো সংক্রান্তি হয় না অর্থাৎ সূর্য এক রাশি থেকে অন্য রাশিতে প্রবেশ করে না, সেই মাসকে অধিক মাস বলা হয়। এজন্য এই সময়কে সাধারণ শুভ বা জাগতিক কাজের জন্য অনুকূল ধরা হয় না।

এই মাসে সাধারণত যেসব কাজ করা থেকে বিরত থাকা হয়—

বিবাহ

গৃহপ্রবেশ

অন্নপ্রাশন

নতুন ব্যবসা শুরু

বড় ধরনের শুভ অনুষ্ঠান

কারণ মনে করা হয়, এই সময়টি ভোগ-বিলাস বা জাগতিক সাফল্যের জন্য নয়; বরং ভক্তি, সাধনা ও আত্মশুদ্ধির জন্য বেশি উপযোগী।

“পুরুষোত্তম মাস” নামের পেছনের কাহিনি

পুরাণে উল্লেখ আছে, একসময় এই মাসকে সবাই অবহেলা করত এবং অশুভ মনে করত। তখন এই মাস ভগবান বিষ্ণুর কাছে আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করে। ভগবান বিষ্ণু করুণাবশত নিজের “পুরুষোত্তম” নাম এই মাসকে দান করেন। সেই থেকেই এটি “পুরুষোত্তম মাস” নামে পরিচিত হয়।

এছাড়াও বলা হয়, এই মাসে ভক্তিভরে ঈশ্বরের আরাধনা করলে বিশেষ পুণ্য লাভ হয়।

এই মাসের আধ্যাত্মিক গুরুত্ব

যদিও অনেকে মল মাসকে অশুভ বলে মনে করেন, কিন্তু আধ্যাত্মিক দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে এটি অত্যন্ত পবিত্র ও তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ সময়।

এই মাস মানুষকে পার্থিব ব্যস্ততা থেকে কিছুটা দূরে রেখে আত্মসংযম ও ঈশ্বরচিন্তার দিকে মনোনিবেশ করতে উৎসাহিত করে।

এই সময়ে বিশেষভাবে গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়—

Many people often ask about “Mala Maas” or “Adhik Maas,” so I tried to explain the topic in a simple way.
What is Mala Maas or Adhik Maas?
The Hindu lunar calendar is based on the movement of the Moon. According to this system, a lunar year consists of approximately 354 days, whereas a solar year has about 365 days. As a result, a difference of nearly 11 days accumulates every year.
To balance this difference, an extra month is added to the calendar roughly once every three years. This additional month is known as “Adhik Maas,” which is also referred to in many places as “Mala Maas” or “Purushottam Maas.”
Why are auspicious ceremonies generally avoided during this month?
According to Hindu scriptures, the month in which the Sun does not transit from one zodiac sign to another (that is, when no Sankranti occurs) is called Adhik Maas. For this reason, this period is generally not considered favorable for worldly or auspicious activities.
During this month, people usually avoid activities such as—
Marriage ceremonies
Housewarming rituals
Annaprashan (first rice-feeding ceremony)
Starting a new business
Large auspicious celebrations
It is believed that this period is not meant for material enjoyment or worldly success, but rather for devotion, spiritual practices, and self-purification.
The Story Behind the Name “Purushottam Maas”
According to the Puranas, there was a time when this month was neglected by everyone and considered inauspicious. Feeling rejected, the month sought refuge in Lord Vishnu. Out of compassion, Lord Vishnu bestowed upon it His own title, “Purushottam.” Since then, the month has been known as “Purushottam Maas.”
It is also believed that sincere worship and devotion during this month bring special spiritual merit and blessings.
The Spiritual Importance of This Month
Although many people consider Mala Maas inauspicious, from a spiritual perspective it is regarded as an extremely sacred and meaningful time.
This month encourages people to step away from worldly distractions and focus more deeply on self-discipline and remembrance of God.
Special emphasis is given during this period to—
Chanting and prayers
Reading sacred scriptures
Charity and service
Fasting and devotion
Self-control and discipline
In short, while Mala Maas may be considered unsuitable for certain worldly auspicious events, it is highly valuable for spiritual growth, devotion, and inner purification. Therefore, instead of viewing this month merely as “inauspicious,” it should be seen as a special opportunity for spiritual practice.

নবগ্রহ মঙ্গলাষ্টকম্ হল এমন এক পবিত্র স্তোত্র, যেখানে নবগ্রহ—সূর্য, চন্দ্র, মঙ্গল, বুধ, বৃহস্পতি, শুক্র, শনি, রাহু ও কেতুর কৃপা প্রার্থনা করা হয়।
হিন্দু শাস্ত্রমতে, মানুষের জীবনে সুখ-দুঃখ, সাফল্য-বাধা ও মানসিক অবস্থার উপর গ্রহদের বিশেষ প্রভাব রয়েছে। এই স্তোত্র পাঠ করলে সেই অশুভ প্রভাব প্রশমিত হয় এবং শুভ শক্তির বৃদ্ধি ঘটে বলে বিশ্বাস করা হয়।
🌞 ১। সূর্যদেব
অগ্নিময় জ্যোতির অধিকারী সূর্যদেব কাশ্যপ ঋষির বংশজাত এবং সিংহ রাশির অধিপতি।
তিনি শক্তি, আত্মবিশ্বাস, স্বাস্থ্য ও নেতৃত্বের প্রতীক।
গুরু, চন্দ্র ও মঙ্গল তাঁর মিত্র, আর শুক্র ও শনি তাঁর প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী বলে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।
সেই দিবাকর সূর্যদেব আমাদের জীবন আলোকিত করুন এবং সর্বদা মঙ্গল দান করুন।
🌙 ২। চন্দ্রদেব
শুভ্র ও শান্তিময় চন্দ্রদেব কর্কট রাশির অধিপতি এবং অত্রি ঋষির বংশে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন।
তিনি মন, অনুভূতি, ভালোবাসা ও মানসিক শান্তির প্রতীক।
শিব ও উমাদেবীর প্রিয় এই চন্দ্রদেব মানুষের মনকে কোমল ও স্থির করেন।
সেই চন্দ্রদেব আমাদের জীবনে শান্তি ও সুখ দান করুন।
🔥 ৩। মঙ্গলদেব
ভৌম বা মঙ্গলদেব শক্তি, সাহস ও পরাক্রমের প্রতীক।
তিনি মেষ ও বৃশ্চিক রাশির অধিপতি এবং দক্ষিণ দিকের রক্ষক।
সূর্য ও চন্দ্র তাঁর বন্ধু, কিন্তু বুধের সঙ্গে তাঁর বিরোধ রয়েছে।
যুদ্ধশক্তি, ভূমি ও আত্মরক্ষার সঙ্গে তাঁর বিশেষ সম্পর্ক রয়েছে।

পীতবর্ণ বুধদেব জ্ঞান, বুদ্ধি, বাকশক্তি ও ব্যবসার অধিপতি।
তিনি মিথুন ও কন্যা রাশির স্বামী।
বিষ্ণু তাঁর অধিদেবতা বলে মানা হয়।
বুদ্ধিমত্তা, শিক্ষালাভ ও যোগাযোগ দক্ষতা বৃদ্ধির জন্য বুধদেবের কৃপা বিশেষ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
সেই সৌম্য বুধদেব আমাদের জীবনে জ্ঞান ও শান্তি আনুন।
📖 ৫। বৃহস্পতিদেব
দেবগুরু বৃহস্পতি অঙ্গিরা ঋষির বংশজাত এবং ধনু ও মীন রাশির অধিপতি।
তিনি ধর্ম, জ্ঞান, ন্যায়, শিক্ষকতা ও শুভফলের প্রতীক।
সূর্য, চন্দ্র ও মঙ্গল তাঁর বন্ধু।
তাঁর কৃপায় বিদ্যা, সম্মান, বিবাহ ও সন্তানের সুখ লাভ হয় বলে বিশ্বাস করা হয়।

দাম্পত্য সুখ, সম্পদ, সৌন্দর্য ও শিল্পী প্রতিভা বৃদ্ধিতে শুক্রদেবের কৃপা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
সেই ভৃগুপুত্র শুক্রদেব আমাদের সুখ ও সমৃদ্ধি দান করুন।
🪐 ৭। শনিদেব
গম্ভীর ও কৃষ্ণবর্ণ শনিদেব কর্মফলের বিচারক হিসেবে পরিচিত।
তিনি মকর ও কুম্ভ রাশির অধিপতি।
শনি মানুষকে ধৈর্য, শৃঙ্খলা ও কর্মের মূল্য শেখান।
যদিও তাঁকে ভয় করা হয়, প্রকৃতপক্ষে তিনি ন্যায়বিচারের দেবতা।
সেই রবিপুত্র শনিদেব আমাদের অন্যায় থেকে দূরে রেখে সৎপথে পরিচালিত করুন।
🐍 ৮। রাহুদেব
রাহু রহস্য, মায়া, আকস্মিক পরিবর্তন ও পার্থিব আকাঙ্ক্ষার প্রতীক।
তিনি সূর্যগ্রহণের কারণ হিসেবে পরিচিত।
রাহুর প্রভাব জীবনে বিভ্রান্তি আনতে পারে, আবার হঠাৎ সাফল্যও দিতে পারে।
দূর্বা ও সর্পতত্ত্বের সঙ্গে তাঁর সম্পর্ক রয়েছে।
সেই রাহুদেব আমাদের অশুভ ও বিভ্রান্তি থেকে রক্ষা করুন।

কেতু আধ্যাত্মিকতা, বৈরাগ্য ও মুক্তির প্রতীক।

৬। শেষে প্রার্থনা করুন—
