IFA 5th Division Group 5A U17
Kolkata Union Sporting Club 3–0 YMCA College
Venue: Bata Sports Ground

A commanding and one sided performance saw Kolkata Union Sporting Club register a convincing 3–0 victory over YMCA College and book their place in the Championship Playoffs.

Despite the wretched ground conditions making good football extremely difficult, our boys dominated proceedings and settled the contest in the first half. Rupam Pandit struck twice, including a spectacular in swinging corner that deceived the goalkeeper and crashed into the top left corner. Ashim Das added the third to complete a brilliant first half for KUSC.

The boys controlled the game thereafter and comfortably saw out the match to celebrate a well deserved victory at the final whistle.

Congratulations to our young boys on a superb campaign and a deserved place in the Championship Playoffs! 💚💛🏆

Our heartfelt gratitude to our valued sponsors Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation and Bandhan Bank CSR Initiative for their continued support and for standing behind our young athletes.

IFA 5th Division Group 5A (U17) League
Match Report:
Kolkata Union Sporting Club :
Sir Gurudas Institute :1
Venue: Town Ground

What a spirited performance from our U17 boys! Reduced to 10 men within the first ten minutes after a red card, Kolkata Union Sporting Club refused to be overawed by the numerical disadvantage and continued to take the game to Sir Gurudas Institute.

On a slushy and extremely difficult playing surface, the boys showed tremendous character, fighting spirit and determination to secure a crucial 3–1 victory.

The win takes KUSC perilously close to qualification for the Championship matches, providing the perfect response after the disappointment of conceding late goals in the previous two matches and allowing both games to end in draws.

The scorers for the club were A***n Dewan, Jiba Mondal and Samrat Pal. Proud of our boys! 💚💛

Heartfelt thanks to our valued sponsors Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation and Bandhan Bank CSR Initiative for their continued support of Kolkata Union Sporting Club and our young athletes.

Final Score:
Kolkata Union Sporting Club: 2
Bagmari Club: 0
IFA 5th Division Group 5A (U17) League

A thoroughly one sided contest saw Kolkata Union Sporting Club dominate proceedings from the start, with our young boys attacking relentlessly and keeping Bagmari Club under constant pressure, even though the goals remained elusive.

The original match on 28th August was called off after heavy showers with the score at 0–0, despite Union Sporting Club missing a penalty. With the remaining 11 minutes played today, the boys resumed exactly where they had left off, attacking from the whistle and finally getting the reward their dominance deserved.

Amit Das broke the deadlock within 2 minutes of the restart before Samrat Pal struck again in quick succession, sealing a convincing 2–0 victory and our first win of the campaign after barren draw in the opening fixture.

This was a performance full of attacking intent, confidence and determination from our young boys, who thoroughly deserved their victory.

Congratulations, boys! The journey has begun. 💚💛
We thank our sponsors Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation and Bandhan Bank CSR initiative for supporting our endeavour.

Cricket has lost one of its greatest ambassadors.
Sir Garfield Sobers was not merely the finest all rounder the game has ever seen. He redefined excellence with the bat, ball and in the field, setting standards that generations of cricketers have aspired to emulate. His majestic 365 not out, his versatility as a bowler, and his unmatched brilliance as a fielder made him a complete cricketer in every sense of the word.

His passing marks the end of a glorious era in world cricket, but his legacy will continue to inspire every young sportsperson who dreams of representing the game with skill, courage and grace.

Kolkata Union Sporting Club pays its heartfelt tribute to Sir Garfield Sobers and conveys its deepest condolences to his family, the people of Barbados, and the global cricket fraternity.
