The "healthy" choice isn't always the one you expect.🥗
We often grow up believing that certain foods automatically win when it comes to nutrition-but comparing their nutrient profiles can tell a very different story.
Here are some interesting comparisons from this series:
🌰Almonds vs Walnuts
Walnuts are a much richer source of omega-3 fats, especially ALA.
🥬Spinach vs Roasted Chana
Roasted chana can provide more iron per 100 g than spinach, although iron absorption also depends on the food and overall diet.
🥛Milk vs Carrot
Carrots are exceptionally rich in provitamin A carotenoids, while milk provides vitamin A in a different form and amount.
🍌Banana vs Pumpkin Seeds
Pumpkin seeds are far more magnesium-dense than bananas, making them an excellent plant-based source of magnesium.

Resistance training is not just about building muscle.
Your bones respond to mechanical loading too. When you progressively load the skeleton through resistance training, you give bone tissue a reason to maintain-and in some settings improve-bone mineral density.
That matters as we age because declining muscle strength and bone density increase the risk of falls, fractures, loss of independence, and osteoporosis.
The goal isn't to become a bodybuilder.
The goal is to stay strong enough to protect your bones, maintain muscle, and keep doing the things you want to do later in life.
A practical starting point:
2-3 resistance-training sessions per week Focus on progressively challenging the major muscle groups over time.
Your future bones care about what you do now.

Sarcopenia is not just "getting older."

Starting at age 30, if you don't continue with resistance training you will lose 3-8% of lean muscle mass every 10 years, which will equate to a lose of independence and function into your 70s.
