We didn’t disconnect because we were weak.
We disconnected because it was safer.
Not crying.
Not reacting.
Not needing too much.
Not feeling too deeply.
That version of “strong” helped you survive.
But strength built on suppression always has a cost — exhaustion, emptiness, overexplaining, ignoring your own signals.
And when you start reconnecting with yourself, something shifts.
You can’t tolerate what once felt normal.
You can’t laugh at what hurts your values.
You can’t keep abandoning yourself to keep the peace.
It’s not that life got harder.

Healing isn’t about escaping society.
