K.D. College of Commerce & General Studies had organised "57th ANNUAL SPORTS MEET" with the support of Student Union held at Ariobondo Stadium, Medinipur on 31st January 2018. All the students of the college had a enthusiastically participated in the events. The Teaching and Non-Teaching staffs too showed a outstanding spirit for the sports, hope with this enthusiastic spirit for sports it should continue there after.

This is the second sports meet for the academic year of 2017-18 popularly known as "Non-Government Sports Meet-2018" which was held in Medinipur College Ground. The Sports Officials were only manage to participate in event of "FOOTBALL". According to the fixture the match was against Bhattar College. Our guys initially started very well but at the end it all faded away. All the boys are tremendously good but among them our 2 boys Susanta Mondal and Arjun Singh were the pillars. We had to consume a defeat by 4-0. As per this result the officials promised to change the state in the upcoming session. All the best wishes to Arjun Singh and Akash Pradhan as this was their last official match representation in the college jersey being a final year student. The team would suffer a great loss as none of them are replaceable. Thanks to all the Sports Officials for their support during entire academic year for encouragement of sports among the college students. "HARD LUCK THIS TIME BETTER TRY NEXT TIME".

This time again its MALAY DUTTA Official In-Charge Football of K.D.C.S.C.A. with his supporting staff took the full initiative to made every thing possible for the team to participate in the "SHOWMITRA PAL 2-DAY KNOCK OUT TOURNAMNET-2017" which was held at Palbari Ground from 27th to 29th December 2017. The team went till Quarter Final where they were defeated by Janapara, Mullai. But, this much effort taken single handedly by MALAY DUTTA and by his supporting staffs is beyond appreciable. A great hats off to him and undoubtedly association feels honored to have a OFFICIAL like him. This entire SESSION of 2017 goes in the name of MALLAY DUTTA and his effort. "THANKS A LOT MALAY DUTTA"

K.D. college Cricket Team has participated in the Inter - College University Level Cricket Tournament 2017 on 14th September 2017. It's a Knock-Out tournament, conducted by Vidyasagar university held at University ground. As per the match report K.D. College lost the match against Sukumar Sengupta Mahavidyalaya (Keshpur) by 10 runs. They only gave run rate chasing of 119 made 14 overs as they were all down. Our boys gave a good fight, they were all down with 110. This result is not at all acceptable but with all sorts of unsupported issues they have have tried their best to put up our college flag up. Though this type of results officials are also equally responsible, but they stayed up this time and will positively take care about the matters from the next tournaments and matches onward, for the betterment of the team and players, so that this type of results would not repeat any more. A great thanks to Indrajit Panigrahi Sir and Tamal Kanti Chakraborty for making the team formation happen.

K.D. College has participated Inter - College Chess Tournament 2017 of University Level organised by Vidyasagar University held at Amenity Center (V.U. Campus) on 20th September 2017. In the tournament only 2 of our best players have been participated and competed against different colleges only from the Men category SAIKAT MUKHERJEE of 3rd Year ACCN. (H) and RAJA BISWAS of 3rd Year ACCN. (H). As we are also "SORRY" that we fail to promote and find out any FEMALE competitor for the tournament, as we also determined to not so be repeat next tournament on wards. The result for the tournament was not at all up to the mark, but the matches were impressive.

Hard Luck this time as we also fail to achieve to get any University Level selection, hoping for the best next year.

Likely every year this year also our college had participated in the Inter-College Football Tournament 2017 co-ordinated by Vidyasagar University, which was held from 17th - 28th August 2017. As for the reason and open trail was conducted in the Palbari ground, Midnapore from 4/08/2017 to 11/08/2017 in which around 31 students put themselves in the trail including last year's selected and participate students who took part in various college tournaments selected on the basis of their talents. Among them best 20 were selected and 3 were on stand - by.
Our college Football team took on the Siddhinath Mahavidyalaya Football team on 22/08/2017. The entire result of the match was as usual, the team from either side didn't scored any goals, and this went to the result of "TIE-BREAKER". In the tie-breaker our lads were only able to score 3 out of 5 as the opponent scored 4 out 5. This again resulted our dreams for glory to full stop. We are facing this type of result from past many years, and we think this scenario should change for the development of sports craze in our college. Any ways we had a great support from the College authority, College Student Union and our ever effort ed supporting staff as Malay Dutta Football In-charge, Sourav Nayak as Trainer, Suman Ghosh as Asst. Trainer, our dearest Manger Suman Kuila and all the the other officials. Due to all the lacking we were not up to the mark which lead to put off, the glory for the college.
Though 2 of our talented Players Samir Mahata and Suraj Singh were called for "Vidyasagar University Football Team" trail. We hope this two can bring a difference for our college's emerging sports craze. We will give our best to put on a better result next time. Hard-Luck for this time, hope for the best in next up-coming college Football tournament in the month of January.
