Dear friends,

My Academy's 43rd Annual Karate Tournament: A Triumph of Skill and Sportsmanship

In a vibrant display of martial prowess and spirited competitiveness, Rajesh Thakkar's Karate Academy in association with the P.J. Hindu Gymkhana recently orchestrated RTKA’s 43rd Annual Karate Tournament.

The tournament saw an impressive participation of 300 students representing different age groups, from as young as 4 years to individuals as seasoned as 57 years, competing across key events, including Kata, Kumite, Kihon, and Shadow Shiai.

The participants spanned diverse age groups and belt groups, which stood as a testament to the Academy's commitment to martial arts excellence, the spirit of competitiveness and the development of disciplined individuals.

The Chief Guest Dr. Yasukata Fukahori, Consul-General of Japan, Mumbai, served as the Chief Guest, emphasizing how Karate transcends physical fitness to shape individuals spiritually. His remarks underscored the profound impact of martial arts on personal development and cultural understanding.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Mickey Mehta, the globally renowned Holistic Health Guru and Spiritual Life Coach, added prestige to the occasion with his motivating presence and infused the event with positivity, inspiring both participants and guests.

Dr. Mickey Mehta also gave Sensei Thakkar a big surprise by bringing Sensei Thakkar's old friend, the super strong, Sensei Viraf Manjra. Sensei Viraf advised participants that practice and practice alone will make you strong and successful.

Sensei Salauddin Ansari, Past National Champion and President of the Karate Association of Maharashtra, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of discipline and commitment in martial arts.

Mrs. Manju Lodha, Chairperson of the Lodha Foundation, Poet, Writer, and Philanthropist, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. Her motivational words urged participants to "play to win" and give their 100%, resonating deeply with the audience.

The ever-inspiring Mr. Bharat Dabholkar, Advertising Professional, Theater Writer, and Director, shared his commitment to health and well-being, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.

Mr. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Government of Maharashtra, sent his best wishes to the Academy on the occasion of the 43rd Annual Karate Tournament.

RTKA missed Nakul Jain, Director, Khanvel Resorts who was invited as Guest of Honour. His ever supportive role in all of RTKA's events, especially the Annual Camp made the Academy miss his presence.

Sensei Sandeep Gade, General Secretary of the Karate Association of Maharashtra, added his support to the event with his encouraging words.

Sensei Ajay Marwa, Senior VP of MMA India & Associate Director of UFC Gym Mumbai, was also present. He addressed the audience and said, "Sensei Rajesh Thakkar's Annual Karate tournament is always motivating and encouraging. It was heartwarming to see Karatekas punching and kicking instead of merely exercising their fingers on their mobiles."

Sensei Rajesh Thakkar conveyed his appreciation, acknowledging the presence and support of Sensei Shirish, Sensei Sarang, Sensei Kaivan, and My brother Girdhar Thakkar, Director of Gokaido, for dedicating their valuable time to the students and the event and distributed the certificates to winners.

The Academy ensured a fair and judicious competition with (KIO & KAM) Karate India Organisation & Karate Association of Maharashtra approved referees presiding over the events. Their expertise and adherence to fair play added a professional touch to the tournament, as they declared results and acknowledged the participants dedication and skill.

Finally, the success of the tournament owes much to the dedicated support of the Academy's senior members with notable contributions from Sensei Jayesh, who traveled from Bangalore, Sensei Bahadur, Sensei Ashfaq, Sensei Hersh, Sensei Mahesh, Sensei Aashish, Sensei Aman, Sensei Dakshesh, Sensei Sanjay, Shandai Sunny, Shandai Rajkumar, Sempai Richa, Sempai Suraj, Sempai Preesha, Sempai Manan, and Sempai Tanishq.

Ms. Hanover Wadia, Shandai Nirav, and Sempai Shaley addressed challenges seamlessly. Special mentions to Sensei Raghuvir, who traveled from Bhavnagar, and Sensei Roshni, present both days, providing continuous support. Though missed, Sensei Gospi's veteran presence was felt.

Recognition extends to brown belts Sempai Dhananjay, Sempai Jason, Sempai Diyaan, Sempai Preha, Sempai Sysha, Sempai Bhoomika, and Sempai Siana. Sensei Rajesh Thakkar takes pride in the collaborative efforts of the Academy's seniors, emphasizing their teamwork in ensuring the tournament's success.

The gracious support extended by P.J. Hindu Gymkhana's committee played a pivotal role in the event's success, allowing the academy to host a memorable tournament.

RTKA’s 43rd Annual Karate Tournament not only celebrated martial arts proficiency but also fostered a sense of community and mutual respect among participants, parents, and well-wishers.
