The on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the management of sports bodies by non-experts, saying that cricket associations should be led by retired cricketers rather than individuals who "do not even know how to handle a bat".
My view:
Administration, networking and planning are different from playing. Selectors need to be ex cricketers no doubt, but I don’t quite agree with the idea that administrators of a sports body need to be ex sportsmen.
This can also lead to favouritism, regionalism and inability to communicate and liaison effectively with govt and other sports bodies. Liaison and networking is not a skill that comes naturally to most sportsmen, as they are usually introvert genius.
