A very special moment from the Mumbai batizado where we surprised Águia ( ) with her Monitor (yellow/blue) belt! She totally deserved this belt with the kind of work she’s put into her capoeira movement, music and general contribution to capoeira! She’s moved between 4 cities across 3 countries but never let her Capoeira stop! And we salute that spirit! Congratulations again Águia for a well deserved belt promotion!

The ‘roda’ is the heart of capoeira. It serves as a space where martial arts, music and culture converge! Everything we practise in classes leads to the ‘game’ in the roda! The roda is more than just a place to play capoeira, it is the manifestation of the entire capoeira community and its traditions!

Training on a wet floor in the rains to create more core stability and train balance. A capoeirista must have a strong core and balance to play a good game as they need to make directional changes on the go depending on how the other person is moving.
