This gentle industrialist took the unknown Wilson Jones under his wing and it was his particular delight that Wilson won India its first world crown way back in 1958

Gladiators Reign Supreme!

Host club Chembur Gymkhana’s very own Gladiators etched their name in glory as they lifted the coveted Nestle and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiards League 2026 title with a commanding performance over finalists MIG Club Sharks.

Continuing the CG trend, Loukic Pathare once again opened the charge for the Gladiators and produced his finest touch of the tournament with a magnificent century break of 101, only the third ton of the league, to outclass Sharks skipper Prabdeep Singh by 84 points.

The second encounter turned into an absolute blockbuster as former State Champions Vishal Madan and Mahesh Jagdale locked horns in one final battle for their respective sides.

Recovering nearly 90 points from the daunting 110 handicap advantage given to the Sharks, Madan struck first with a beautifully crafted break of 83 which unfortunately ended with a missed in-off. But the battle had only just begun.

Jagdale answered in style with a gritty 89 break of his own, swinging the momentum back in favour of the Sharks as they edged ahead 118-108.

Refusing to bow under pressure, the former India Top-8 cueist and World Quarter Finalist Vishal Madan then delivered what would ultimately define the Grand Finale. A breathtaking unfinished break of 93 brought the house down and undoubtedly stood out as the game of the tournament.

With the Gladiators firmly in command, anchors Nikhil Lalwani and Ninad Borkar entered the arena with targets of 144 and 200 respectively. The deceptive Lalwani surged to victory in dominant fashion, restricting Borkar to just 51 and sealing the title for the home side.

Chembur Gymkhana finally lifted the trophy after a long wait, and doing so as hosts made the triumph even more special amidst roaring celebrations from the CG faithful cheering on their beloved team.

With this, the Nestle and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiards League 2026 comes to a memorable end, but the spirit of Billiards continues to move forward stronger than ever.

Until next time… stay tuned for more.

Gladiators take charge, set Semi Final clash!

Chembur Gymkhana’s very own Team Gladiators stormed into the Semi Final of the Nestle and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiards League 2026 with a thrilling win over WCG Kachcha Nimboos.

Opening the challenge once again for Gladiators, Loukic Pathare overcame Nimboos cueist Shakir Qureshi after a slow start. Finding his rhythm late into the frame, the former India Top 8 player delivered a timely 60+ break, only to see it end prematurely unlike his previous outings where he came close to the ton mark.

With this advantage, CG trusted their steady hand Nikhil Lalwani against Akash Ramteke with just 26 points to spare. Lalwani responded in style with a classy unfinished 27 break, leaving anchor Jayraj Amane a target of 145 against WCG’s Karan Makwana’s 200.

The penultimate game looked firmly under Amane’s control as he built and maintained an early 30-point cushion. Though Karan used all his might to rescue the sinking ship, he eventually fell short as Jayraj calmly closed the tie and marched Gladiators into the Semi Finals.

Speaking after the victory, the Gladiators captain mentioned that it is not always about fielding the strongest players and that if the win required him to stay benched to maximise the team’s handicap advantage, he was more than happy to sit out and cheer for a squad that has delivered consistently so far.

The home pressure now builds further as the Gladiators gear up for a solid Semi Final clash against the lethal MHC Matka Kings.

Matka Kings down Cannon Kings!

Malabar Hill Club’s Matka Kings marched into the semi finals of the Nestle and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiard League 2026 with a convincing Top 8 victory over DPCG Cannon Kings.

Current State Billiards Top 4 cueist Raajeev Sharma handed his side the perfect start, producing a dominant performance to register a 138-point win over DPCG opener Marzban Amroliwalla.

Forced to bring in their trump card early, Cannon Kings sent Ronnie Daruwala to challenge the ever-consistent potting machine Manav Panchal. Panchal, however, cruised smoothly through the encounter, stunning Daruwala with a commanding 85-point victory.

With the 90-point handicap already recovered, Matka Kings’ Kunal Gandhi was left with a comparatively easier task against Cannon Kings cueist Malcom Kapadia. Gandhi ensured there were no late twists, matching his fancied rival comfortably before reaching the required 67-point target with Kapadia still stranded on 42.

The victory now sets up an exciting semi final showdown between the Matka Kings and hosts as well as home favourites Chembur Gymkhana Gladiators.

Stay tuned to find out who marches into the grand finale.

Sharks too fast to catch!

MIG Club’s Sharks caused a major upset with a whitewash win over the star-studded Khar Gymkhana Team Kindergarten at the Nestle and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiard League 2026.

With State Champion and India Top 8 cueist Rishabh Thakkar opening proceedings for KG, MIG’s Prabdeep Singh delivered a strong resistance game, scoring a handsome 144 against Thakkar’s 200. A frame that perhaps defined the tone of the contest.

With Kindergarten expected to recover nearly 150 points from the 240 handicap points awarded to the Sharks, Prabdeep turned the tables with heavy scoring throughout, keeping Thakkar — who had compiled a sublime 117 break in his previous outing — under constant pressure.

With momentum firmly shifting towards MIG, the Sharks played their trump card in former State Champion Mahesh Jagdale. Taking on reigning 6 Reds Snooker State Champion Sumer Mago, the quick-paced Jagdale stormed out of the blocks, maintaining the 100-point lead before completely shutting the doors on KG with a massive 121-point winning margin.

With the combined lead crossing the 200-point mark for the Sharks, the third frame became unnecessary as Khar Gymkhana’s ace and one of India’s fan favourites, Ishpreet Singh, returned home unutilised as Kindergarten settled for a Top 8 finish.

The Sharks now set up a thrilling semi final duel against Khar Gymkhana’s second team, Challengers, in the Nestle and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiard League 2026.

Kachcha Nimboos not so Kachcha!!

Wellington Catholic Gymkhana’s Kachcha Nimboos shocked ECC Elfie Star Trio with a thrilling win at the Nestlé and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiard League 2026.

Conceding a hefty 60-point handicap against Shubham Randhe, WCG cueist Shakir Qureshi held his ground brilliantly, ensuring the deficit stayed within reach.

Coming in second, Akash Ramteke recovered Shakir’s loss with a dramatic cat-and-mouse victory over Elfie Stars’ Cyrus Mistry, giving anchor Karan Makwana a target of 146 points after receiving a team handicap of 65 points from the Stars.

Karan was up against former State Top 8 cueist Sunil Jain, who looked firmly in control as he surged to a steady 40-point lead. But Karan, well versed with the nuances of billiards, capitalised on every opportunity, steadily keeping his scoreboard ticking before ultimately reaching his target of 146 against Jain’s 158.

With this sensational win, the Nimboos now gear up for a hefty challenge against hosts Chembur Gymkhana’s Team Gladiators.

Will they repeat their 2023 semi final feat or make it better?

Gladiators’ Charge!!

Host club Chembur Gymkhana Team Gladiators stormed into the Top 8 of the Nestle and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiard League 2026 with a convincing triumph over PJ Hindu Gymkhana Probables.

Leading the assault was opener Loukic Pathare, who dazzled the crowd with a sublime 81 alongside a classy 45 break, powering his side to an immediate 100-point advantage.

The Probables responded by fielding Asian Champion Dhruv Sitwala against the deceptive Nikhil Lalwani. What looked like a recovery mission soon turned into another Gladiator masterclass as Lalwani compiled a clinical 61 break, leaving the champion trailing by 80 points.

Dhruv rose to the occasion in trademark fashion with a composed 97 break followed by a 43 unfinished, attempting to pull his side back into contention. But with Nikhil already putting up 150 points against the Asian Champion, the damage had been done.

That left Gladiators captain and anchor Vishal Madan requiring 150 points against Probables’ Jignesh Thakkar. Playing on familiar home conditions, Madan wasted little time in sealing the victory with complete authority and guiding his side into the quarterfinals.

With this emphatic win, the Gladiators now prepare for a blockbuster clash against Wellington Catholic Gymkhana’s Kaccha Nimboos — the giant-slayers who created waves with a semifinal appearance in the 2023 edition of the Billiards League.

Will the Gladiators continue their relentless charge? Stay tuned for more action from the Nestle and Chembur Gymkhana presents BSAM Billiard League 2026.

Until then… the battle on the baize continues.
