This fort was built on a hill called Murumbadevi Dongar (Mountain of the Goddess Murumba). Rajgad boasts of the highest number of days stayed by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on any fort.

➜ About Rajgad Fort.

Rajgad is a hill fort situated in the Pune district of Maharashtra, India. Formerly known as Murumdev, the fort was the capital of the Maratha Empire under the rule of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for almost 26 years, after which the capital was moved to the Raigad Fort. RAJGAD trek, is an engaging hike packed with a lot of fun, especially if hiking during the winters.

Day 1, Saturday
10:00 PM - Departure from Kandivali (Trekkers are advised to report at least half hour before)

Day 2, Sunday
04:00 AM - Reach Base Village - Rajgad, Rest.
06:00 AM - Freshen Up & Have Breakfast
06:30 AM - Start Trekking
10:30 AM - Reach Top, Explore.
11:30 AM - Start Descending
02:30 PM - Reach Fort Base & Have Lunch
04:00 PM - Depart to Kandivali
10:00 PM - Reach Kandivali (Depending on Road & Traffic Conditions)
