. A traditional Indian game from the soil of Maharashtra. Balambhatdada Deodhar ( the fitness instructor of Peshwa Baji Rao II ) was the father of Mallakhamb.

The earliest recorded reference to mallakhamba is found in somesvara Chalukya's classic Manasollasas (1135 AD). Originally Mallakhamb was used as a supporting exercise for wrestlers. This game is blend of a adventure , flexibility , endurance , beauty , difficulty. Today it is used more as a performance art rather than a method of training.
