Aavhan, the sports fest of IIT Bombay in collaboration with Fitizen India present to you the 4th Edition of IIT Bombay Half Marathon. For a nominal entry fee starting from Rs. 799, one can have timed runs of 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km. The event is on the 30th of October and the starting point is at the SAC. So register and get a chance to compete in one of Mumbai's biggest marathons.

Additionally, IIT Bombay students get a flat 50% discount on the ticket price!

Now that the 'Friendly Games' are over, India made its mark in various domains of sport, with many gold medals in wrestling, para powerlifting, boxing, and athletics. We send our best wishes to all the medalists who made India proud and cannot wait to see them excel in the future.

With the recent conclusion of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the Indian contingent brought sixty-one medals home, bringing the country to fourth place on the medal tally this year. We are proud to see their hard work and effort pay off in athletics, para powerlifting, wrestling, boxing, para table tennis, badminton, table tennis, and badminton. We congratulate all the winners and wish them well in their future endeavors.

The commencement of the 2022 Commonwealth Games on 28th July demonstrated India's dominance in the sports world in Birmingham, England. With feats of superhuman strength, the Indian Weightlifting Team geared up, targeted high, and made their mark in this year's Commonwealth Games. India received the most laurels for the sport this year with three gold, two silver, and one bronze medal across various weight categories. We congratulate all the medallists for their tremendous success and are eager to witness the performances of the rest of the Indian contingent.

With myriad benefits in the physical, psychological, and social spheres like an increase in mental and physical agility, improvement in heart health, lower odds of getting depression, and an excellent method to meet new people, this sport has become one of the most popular in the world with millions playing it. Celebrating the 88th anniversary of the establishment of the Badminton World Federation, an organisation responsible for advancing the popularity of badminton, the Badminton Community of IIT Bombay wishes everyone a Happy World Badminton Day!
