SINK AND SWIM

Thoughts are just wind

If there is too much wind on the water you can’t see the sky reflected in it

Only when the water is calm can you see the world in it

Only if it is very still can you peer through and see what is there at the bottom

The same is true of your mind. When there are so many thoughts ruffling the surface how to see the world as it is?

Without stillness life is just patterns skating across the surface

Only if you know how to be still you can perceive the depths of who you are

Infinity happens only in the extremes

between zero and infinity there are so many limited identities

2… 3… 4… 100… 1000…

It is also true within you. Only in your peaks of energy or in your utter stillness can you taste infinity

Everything in between is a limited experience

A human being is not comfortable in either place. In utter stillness or in the throws of ecstasy (yes true ecstasy is so intense it is uncomfortable) there is a possibility to touch the infinite

That is why all this Sadhana, that you build yourself a vessel that can withstand the extremes of experience

Grace is an orientation

It is not something hanging out there in the air

It is not something you extract from the existence

It is just the truth of which you are a tiny piece

If you are oriented toward reality, toward the undiluted truth of each moment

Then grace is but a breath away

But if you are turned away, lost in the mental permutations of your survival, success, and imagination

Then even if it is sitting next to you, you will never see it

Green light brings restfulness

New science is showing that green light helps calm the system and promotes deeper rest

If we lose the green plant life due to soil extinction, it may not only mean food shortage, but internally we may suffer turmoil due to lack of green light

Rich soils mean an explosion of plant life, extinct soil means dry and brown

Let’s make this planet an environment where human beings can be happy

Water is life

When we look for life on other planets, we look for water

Living beings sprang forth from water. It is roughly 70% of both the earth and our own bodies

That is because our bodies are the earth, they are just soil standing up and moving around for some time

Healthy soil holds water, but it cannot do so without organic material

So without healthy soil, the rain cannot stay in the earth, it will just disappear

Mars is a planet where the water cannot be in the soil because it is frozen, and we are making the earth just like that

Instead of trying to run away to Mars, let’s make sure the earth doesn’t become a Mars!

A mushroom walked into a bar

Mushrooms are an indication of soil health

Mushroooms break down and eat dead plants

they create compounds that glue soils together, reduce pathogens in the soil, and promote root growth

Without soil there is nothing to eat, so there is nothing sweet
