Grand Success of 1st National Level Kungfu Pro Sanda Championship – “King of the Ring”
The 1st National Level Kungfu Pro Sanda Championship – “King of the Ring” was organised with great enthusiasm and grandeur at St. Wilfred’s School Ground, Ulwe, Mumbai on 21st March 2026. The event was jointly organised by the Kungfu Sports Association of Maharashtra along with Seadogs Pvt Ltd and SAI Realtors.
The championship witnessed thrilling and high-energy bouts across multiple categories including Under-14, Under-16, Under-19, and Open for both boys and girls. The competition stood out for its intense matchups, discipline, and sportsmanship, making it a memorable event for fighters and spectators alike.
The event was graced and guided by eminent personalities including Shifu CL Lama, President of the All India Kungfu Federation, and Shifu Vivek Dwivedi. The successful ex*****on of the championship was made possible due to the relentless efforts of Atul Mishra (Chairman of the Organising Committee), Deepak Thakur (President of the Organising Committee), along with Shifu Omkar Pawar, Shifu Ajay Bundela, and Suraj Naik, whose dedication ensured the event became a grand success.
The main attraction of the evening was the Under-19 and Open category fights, where fighters competed for the prestigious “King of the Ring” title belt. Winners of these categories not only earned recognition but will also be required to defend their titles in the upcoming editions, adding excitement and prestige to future championships.
Winners Highlights
Under-14 Boys:
Dipanshu Chaurasiya emerged as the champion, winning a shield and a cash prize of ₹7000, while Vedant Dwivedi secured the runner-up position with ₹4000.
Under-16 Girls:
Nainika Thakur claimed the title with a shield and ₹7000 cash prize, while Gargi finished as runner-up, receiving ₹4000.
Under-19 Boys Group A:
Joy Jena won the coveted King of the Ring title belt along with ₹11000, while Darshan Salunkhe was the runner-up, receiving ₹4000.
Under-19 Boys Group B:
Niraj Tonpe secured the King of the Ring title belt and ₹11000, while Kaustubh Mungle finished as runner-up, winning a shield and ₹4000.
Open Category (Main Event):
The highlight of the evening saw Ajinkya Lavhe crowned as the Kungfu Pro Sanda King of the Ring, winning the title belt and a grand cash prize of ₹51000. Praveen Bamen finished as runner-up, receiving ₹11000 along with a shield.
The championship was conducted smoothly with excellent coordination, showcasing high standards of professionalism and sports management. The electrifying atmosphere, competitive spirit, and enthusiastic participation reflected the growing popularity of Kungfu Pro Sanda in India.
Looking ahead, the organisers announced that the next major event will be the Asia Championship, where fighters will once again compete to defend their titles and bring honour to their names and teams.
The success of this championship marks a significant step forward in promoting Kungfu as a competitive sport and nurturing future champions on a larger platform.
