MAYURASANA / PEACOCK / ARM LEVER 🐒
Being crafty with the approach always helps. There can be several steps to progression and not all fit to everyone. However, there are some which everyone can do with minimum effort.
MAYURASANA / PEACOCK / ARM LEVER (has many names ) is a little problematic for a lot of you out there with its tricky hand placement.
Elbow will feel like digging in your abdomen and it will pain a little but believe me , it will be worth it. Pain will subside with time and you will be able to do it with ease.
You can follow these drills in the exact manner / incorporate in your training and see the results. Do upload and tag me if this is helpful.
Drills –
1- Elbow to Abdomen - 10 Secs x 3 Sets
2- Dead Weight ( DW ) Drop - 10 Secs x 3 Sets
3- DW Drop – Straddle – 10 Secs x 3 Sets
4- Straddle Leg Taps - 10 Reps x 3 Sets
5- Leg Taps Elevated – 10 Reps x 3 Sets
6- Straight Leg Hold/Taps – 10 Secs/10 Reps x 3 Sets
7- Straddle Taps - 10 Reps x 3 Sets
8- Straight Leg Taps & Hold – 10 Reps/Hold x 3 Sets
Things to work on -
1- Hand Placement
2- Breathing – Getting comfortable with body weight pressure on Abdomen
3 - Wrist Flexibility & Strength.
Tip – Do a proper warm up for the wrist & shoulders.
