It felt as though his portrayal of Ravan was shaping my pen… as if the character himself was dictating how the chapter should evolve.

Ashutosh ji’s interpretation of Ravan has always stood apart—intense, intellectual, layered. His rendition of the **Shiv Tandav Stotram**, penned by Aalok Shrivastava, is not merely a performance—it is an invocation. The rhythm, the force, the devotion—it captures the very essence of the sovereign who was magnificent, yet flawed.

*Shat Shat Vande Chess* traces a 15,000-year odyssey—from Mandodari’s strategic brilliance in Lanka to modern India’s chess renaissance. And I truly believe that the cinematic journey of this story would feel complete if I receive his blessings and permission to incorporate his Hindi rendition of the *Shiv Tandav Stotram* in the film.

Chess is **India’s gift to the world**, and this belief inspired my very first book, *The Chess Course*, whose opening chapter explored the **Origin and History of the Game**. Over time, I felt this story deserved to be told in full.
