BATTERED and BRUISED but still ... a WINNER!!!

Expected a very physical battle and wow!! Xavier boys didn't dissappoint!!

Winning a battle could be easier than winning a Playoff match against Xavier boys (Parel)
Malwani SC continued their winning run of games with a win over Xavier boys at the Goan football ground in the Play off match of second division MDFA.

Before the game started Malwani SC knew that they had to win, to qualify for the 1st division of the MDFA league.

They started the game well with the mid field of MAXI, PIYUSH and MOHEEB kept good posisession of the ball, while GYPSY and DAVID tried to attack from the wide areas and created several chances but the Xaviers Boys defense was as good as wall and kept everything out along with the keeper who was the player of the match.

But their resilience was broken when Reegan Misquitta latched on to a good Through ball and slotted it in the Right hand corner to score his 7th goal of the season.

With Xavier boys trying to get an equalizer put more players forward and tried to dominate the midfield and tackles started flying right and left, the referee was very calm but still gave 5 yellow cards to both the teams.

The Malwani SC defence held strong with a barrage of attacks from the Xavier Boys in the end of the first half. Carlton Mascarenhas, Karan Patil, Noah Kumar and Laxman Singh had to be really on the game to keep the lead intact.

Second half, was Identical to the First half, but after a few scares from Xavier Boys, Malwani Sc put the game to bed with a well taken Free Kick from David D'souza (Via deflection)

With Xavier Boys Attacking, allowed AVLON and Ritesh (substitutes) to play on the counter attack, but the keeper made sure there were no more goals conceded.

With the 2-0 win, Malwani SC have qualified for the 1st Division and will play the final match of the Pay off againt Mumbai FC, where even a draw will book their place in the Semi Finals.

Empathic win for Malwani SC (virtuoso academy) against Tarun sporting on 13 December at MSSA ground in the MDFA 2nd division play offs.

Malwani SC almost started the game with the goal in the first minute itself.. When the defender slipped while controlling the ball giving Gypsy Singh the space behind the fullback to make a absolutely delicious cross, which couldn't be met my David D'souza as he slipped as well.

In the 17th minute Reegan opened the scoring after he had previously missed an 1v1 situation against the keeper.
He added the second in the 30th minute, thanks to a pin point cross from Gypsy Singh again. Reegan completed his hatrick in the 33rd minute with a well placed shot.

Second half started well for Tarun sporting .. As they were pressing high of the pitch..and created a few chances and shots on goal, but were not able to trouble the keeper (Sumit Kamble)

High pressing left lots of space behind Taruns defence,which Malwani SC were able to take advantage of, and scored 2 more goals from David D'souza who finished with a cross from Avlon Dias and Ritesh Sathe who was able to round of the keeper and pass the ball in the open net.

All in all a good day.. But we have to get up again and get ready for the next battle..
