🚨 IFA SHIELD SEMI FINAL 🚨
East Bengal FC has a chance to reach another final this season having already won the Durand Cup as they take on NorthEast United FC in the second semi finals of the 2026 IFA Shield tomorrow at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan from 5 pm.
Head coach Antonio Lopez Habas has not yet fielded a full strength available squad in the tournament so far, having rested Dani Ramirez and Mohammed Rashid since the team returned from Amman, Jordan.
Tomorrow, the red and gold brigade will have a tough task as they will take on an inform Northeast United who has the likes of Alaaeddine Ajjaraie, Ethyan Gonzalez in their attack. What East Bengal has been lacking so far since the Durand Cup is their striking line-up to fire and without a single foreign striker available so far, the team had to look upto Jesin TK and David Lalhlansanga for leading the lines, which unfortunately they couldn't live upto the expectations.
Tomorrow, against Northeast United, East Bengal will need to be clinical and their two new foreign signings, who are reportedly registered ahead of the match, could become crucial — 🇨🇮 Ake Loba Arnaud and 🇵🇱 Lukasz Zwolinski. All eyes vould be on these two new recruits along with 🇦🇺 Chris Ikonomidis who was under criticism from the fans after the last match against Punjab Football Club.
There has absolutely been no news about what could be the possibile lineup but the fans would definitely expect coach Antonio Lopez Habas to field the strongest possible lineup and look to win and reach the finals and set-up a repeat of the Durand Cup final with another date with already finalists Mohun Bagan Super Giant.
