Incidentally, it was on the 16th July five years ago that we started bringing back music to Sri Acharya's house. We are happy that what started as an attempt, by a small group of music enthusiasts, to clean the doyen's house that had become a den of illicit activities and had got dilapidated due to negligence over a decade, has seen a phenomenal transformation due to active participation of the musicians and today the place is a centre of attraction for most musicians visiting the city. We hope to see much more happening at the place.

Dear Friends,
It has been five years since (July 2017) we started using Sri Acharya's house, after getting it cleaned of filth and debris, for music and other civilized activities. You have seen it develop into a centre of attraction for most musicians visiting the city. It is time we look more into the fate of the house here on - so go th' the files enclosed and respond in true spirit. The responses can even be as little as illustrated below.
ಶ್ರೀ ಆಚಾರ್ಯರ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗೀತದ ಬೆಳಕು ಹರಿಸಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ ಈಗ ಐದು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚಿಂತಿಸಲು ಇದು ಸಮಯ. ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಈ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ. ಉತ್ತರಗಳು ಈ ಕೆಳಗಿನಂತೆ ಚಿಕ್ಕದಿದ್ದರೂ ಸಾಕು.

Flute recital to mark Mysore Vasudevacharya's 61st death anniversary on Sunday 15th May from 10 AM to 12 Noon

Vid. V. Vamshidhar, an established flautist from the city, is presenting a concert at Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya's house on Sunday, the 15th May, on the occasion of the 61st death anniversary of the great composer. Vamshidhar is being accompanied by Vidu. Aditi Krishnaprakash on violin and by Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mrudanga. The concert, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12 noon, is open to the public.

Vid. Vamshidhar is an ‘A-Grade' flautist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. He is the grandson of famed flautist of yester years Vid. V. Desikachar. Vamshidhar was a child prodigy, who effortlessly identified a large number of ragas at the tender age of three and had given his first concert performance by the time he was eleven. He had his initial training in music from his grandfather and is presently under the expert tutelage of his uncle Vid. D. Balakrishna, son and disciple of Dr. V. Doreswamy Iyengar and a highly reputed Veena exponent of the Country. Vamshidhar has numerous awards and recognitions to his credit. These include First Place in National level AIR competition - 2003, ‘Best Instrumentalist Award - 2018’ by the Madras Music Academy and Ananya Yuva and Prathibha puraskara awards from Ananya, Bengaluru.

Vidu. Aditi, tutored by Vid. H.K. Narasimha Murthy and Chitraveena Ravikiran, is an 'A-grade' artist of AIR and has been accompanying front-line artistes for many years now. Vid. Ramanujam, is among the most renowned percussionists in the state and has accompanied almost all leading artistes in the field.

ನಗರದ ಹೆಸರಾಂತ ಕಲಾವಿದ ವಿ. ವಂಶೀಧರ್ ಅವರು ಬರುವ ಭಾನುವಾರ ದಿ. ೧೫ರಂದು ಸಂಗೀತ ಕಲಾನಿಧಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಾಸುದೇವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಪಾರಂಪರಿಕ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚಾರ್ಯರ ೬೧ನೇ ವರ್ಷಾಬ್ದಿಕದ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ವೇಣುವಾದನ ಕಚೇರಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪೂರ್ವಾಹ್ನ ೧೦ಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಗದಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ಎರಡು ಗಂಟೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಕಲಾವಿದರಾದ ವಿ. ಅದಿತಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ವೈಲಿನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿ. ಜಿ. ಎಸ್. ರಾಮಾನುಜಂ ಅವರು ಮೃದಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಕ್ಕವಾದ್ಯ ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಗರದ ನ್ಯೂ ಸಯ್ಯಾಜಿ ರಾವ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರ ವೃತ್ತದ ಬಳಿ ಇರುವ ಕಟ್ಟಡದಲ್ಲಿನ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸರ್ವರಿಗೂ ಆಹ್ವಾನವಿದೆ.

ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೂರದರ್ಶನದ ಎ-ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಲಾವಿದರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಂಶೀಧರ್ ಹೆಸರಾಂತ ವೇಣು ವಿದ್ವಾಂಸ ಶ್ರೀ. ವಿ. ದೇಶಿಕಾಚಾರ್ ಅವರ ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳು. ತಾತನವರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಕೊಳಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪಡೆದ ವಂಶೀಧರ್, ನಂತರ ನಾಡಿನ ಹಿರಿಯ ವೈಣಿಕ ವಿ. ಡಿ. ಬಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪಡೆದು ಒಬ್ಬ ನುರಿತ ವೇಣುವಾದಕರಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆನಿಂತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷದ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಹಲವಾರು ರಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಬಾಲಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ವಂಶಿ ಕಚೇರಿ ನೀಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದು ಹನ್ನೊಂದರ ಎಳೆಯ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ. ನಾಡಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ಕೊಳಲು ಕಚೇರಿಗಳನ್ನಲ್ಲದೆ, ವಿ. ಬಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಲವು ವೀಣೆ-ವೇಣು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿರುವ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆಯೂ ಇವರದ್ದು. ೨೦೦೩ರ ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿಯ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಬಹುಮಾನ, ಚೆನ್ನೈ ಮ್ಯೂಸಿಕ್ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ವಾದ್ಯ ಕಲಾವಿದ - ೨೦೧೮, ಅನನ್ಯ ಯುವ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಸೇರಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರಗಳು ಇವರ ಮೂಡಿ ಏರಿವೆ.

ವಿ. ಹೆಚ್. ಕೆ. ನರಸಿಂಹಮೂರ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿತ್ರವೀಣಾ ರವಿಕಿರಣ್ ಅವರ ಶಿಷ್ಯೆ, ಬಹುಮುಖ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ, ಅದಿತಿ ಅವರು ಅನೇಕ ಹಿರಿಯ ಕಲಾವಿದರಿಗೆ ಪಕ್ಕವಾದ್ಯ ನೀಡಿ ಸಂಗೀತ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭದ್ರ ನೆಲೆ ಕಂಡ ಯುವ ಕಲಾವಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನು, ವಿ. ರಾಮಾನುಜಂ ಅವರು ನಾಡಿನ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯ ಮೃದಂಗ ಮತ್ತು ಘಟ ವಾದಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರು, ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಬಹುಪಾಲು ಎಲ್ಲ ಹಿರಿಯ ಕಲಾವಿದರಿಗೆ ಪಕ್ಕವಾದ್ಯ ನೀಡಿದ ಸುಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರು.

R.K. Padmanabha's Veena Programme at Mysore Vasudevacharya’s House

Vid. R.K. Padmanabha, a renowned Veena artiste of the state, will be presenting a concert on Veena at the house of Sangeeta Kalanidhi Mysore Vasudevacharya , on Sunday, the 8th December. He is being accompanied by Vid. P.S. Sridhar on Mrudanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on Ghata. The 2-hour concert is scheduled for 11 a.m. The performance is open to all music lovers. Sri Vasudevacharya’s house is located on the New Sayyaji Rao road opposite M/S Senthil K*mar Textiles.

Vid. Padmanabha is a prominent artiste in the Mysore school of Veena playing. He is today the torch bearer of the famous Mysuru Subbanna school. Hailing from a family of famous musicians of Rudrapatna, Padmanabha is the son of renowned Asthana Vidwan of Mysore royal court R.S. Keshavamurthy. He is an ‘A’ grade artiste in All India Radio and performs regularly in AIR and Doordarshan. He has given Veena concerts all over the country and overseas, including USA. He is also an accomplished vocalist, having performed at many places. Vid. Sridhar and Vid. Ramesh are well known percussionists, having played with many famed artists.
