A bad workout can be worse than no workout at all.
“I am a software consultant, spending most of my time sitting and working on my computer. In order to escape a sedentary lifestyle, I decided to go for exercise which I was doing on my own.
I took up High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), and it was during one of my rigorous sessions that I ended up injuring my shoulder.
Thinking that the pain will go away on its own, I ignored it for some time but the pain was growing severe with each passing day and had gone to the extent of severity where it was now travelling to my neck and even back.
It had started bothering not only my work but my daily activities, what was more frustrating and heart breaking for me was when it did not allow me to cook for my loved ones which is my favorite thing to do.
The pain and discomfort that I was having at that time lead me to doctor shopping, I went for massage, Chiropractic, I even took steroids but none of this was giving me a permanent solution.
Since my work did not allow me time to go to clinics, I decided to look for online physiotherapy options where I found YourPhysio.
My first consultation with the chief physiotherapist was quite good, she explained to me about my problem in detail and made sure to have regular meetings with me to check for my progress.
My physiotherapist made me do exercises regularly, the sessions were supervised and well instructed.
Along my journey I realized that physical activity and exercise is important but what is equally important is to get a prescribed exercise program from an expert.
People who have exclusively studied exercise and its effects on body are will better gyide you on how much and what type of exercises is good for you, especially if you are a beginner rather than following a self-taught routine from videos on internet.
My treatment was based on pure form of guided exercises, that helped me reduce my pain intensity from 7.5 when I started to 1.5 at the moment.
