Although common place, these losses need not be accepted as inevitable, the number of lives lost, injuries sustained, monetary losses could be reduced or prevented, provided we inculcate proper awareness, training, education and provide expertise in selecting right fire safety equipments for required purpose. To state the facts the Fire Fighting Industry is worth Rs. 3000 corers annually. The fact that the personnel are required for this Industry cannot be met by the supply of today. The Students of "Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety and Security Management and"Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering" and PG Diploma in Fire & Safety Management can be appointed either Station Fire Officer or Asst. Station Fire Officer in State Fire Services and Fire Officer or Asst. Fire Officer in Industrial Fire Services depending upon their basic qualification. The Students who pass "One Year Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering" are eligible for Sub-Officer,Fire Supervisor, Leading Fireman and who pass. "Six Months Certificate in Fire Safety Engineering" is eligible for Fireman/Fire Tender Drivers/ Pump Operator (those who are having valid HMV license) depending upon their basic qualification.
