History Made for Goa!
Erica J. De Sequeira has etched her name in Goa’s sporting history by becoming Goa’s first-ever MMA India Youth National Champion. Her remarkable achievement marks a milestone for mixed martial arts in the state and reflects years of dedication, discipline, and hard work.
Competing under MMA India, the national governing body for amateur mixed martial arts in India and the official national federation affiliated with the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), Erica earned one of the highest honours in Indian amateur MMA. IMMAF is the internationally recognized governing body for amateur mixed martial arts and oversees the global pathway for the sport.
Training under Coach Ronnyy (Raunak Singh) at the Academy of Combat Sports Goa, Erica delivered a dominant championship campaign. She won her opening bout by unanimous decision, secured a TKO victory in her second fight, and concluded the tournament with another unanimous decision to capture the national title.
This historic victory is a proud moment for the Academy of Combat Sports Goa, further demonstrating the academy’s commitment to producing elite mixed martial arts athletes. Under the guidance of Coach Ronnyy, Erica has developed into one of India’s most promising young MMA competitors through disciplined training, technical excellence, and unwavering determination.
Erica’s achievement not only brings pride to Goa but also inspires the next generation of martial artists by proving that athletes from the state can reach the highest levels of amateur mixed martial arts and represent India on the international stage.
