Benefits:
This pose simultaneously strengthens and stretches your shoulders.
It strengthens the arms, upper back, legs, glutes, and wrists; and stretches the chest, abdomen, tops of the feet, and ankles.
This pose builds core strength while challenging and improving balance, as well.
Contradictions:
Do not perform purvottanasana if you have an injury at the wrist, neck, or back.
People with high blood pressure should never perform it without the expert's supervision.
Avoid this pose if have a severe migraine.
