The successful scuttling of ex-INS Guldar by ITUS marks a landmark achievement in Indian maritime engineering.

On May 19, 2026, off the Sindhudurg coastline near Vijaydurg, the 1,120-tonne warship was carefully transformed into a new underwater destination — settling upright on the seabed exactly as planned.
This mission stands as a symbol of precision, preparation, and purpose. What once served the nation above the waves will now begin a noble second life beneath them — as India’s first underwater naval museum and artificial coral reef.
