At Bapdev ghat, this was a lesson we almost learned the hard way. We're not going to be casual on our hikes anymore!
I'm a complete n00b when it comes to snakes and google lens was being spotty, so I couldn't identify the snake but we assumed it was venemous. We were sitting down about 20 meters away, so I kept checking this rock while we ere there to ensure the snake hadn't moved.
This was a saw scaled viper, maybe just over a foot long at most - would never have expected to see one in the open like this (which is perhaps another stupid assumption!)
Bajaj Pune Grand Tour Stage 2 ... who took the Bopdev Ghat KOM?
We now have the privilege of having our leaderboards destroyed by a cycle tour. Almost a hundred riders have inserted themselves at the top of Bopdev Ghat leaderboard, with our previous KOM holder being pushed down to position 98! The same has happened to all other climbs on the tour.
Stefan Bennett is now the KOM holder with a time of 10:14 and he was followed closely by and .jr Stefan beats the previous KOM time by 2.5 minutes and was over 4 km / h faster up the climb , at a speed of 21.9 km / h.

At 7.5%/3.7 KM, Bapdev ghat is possibly the biggest climb in the Pune Grand Tour, but it certainly doesn't have the steepest bits - I think that honor will go to the bits of half Sinhagad that the riders are doing (sadly they don't go all the way up to the fort).
