One of the key highlights of this module is the development and utilization of the annual plan that can be effectively applied to bring out the best in training and performance for teams, coaches and athletes. Big week completed! 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝟐 - 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠

In this course, our main focus was on Preparing the Athlete. The following areas in this module cover training principles, endurance, strength, speed, power, biomechanics and nutrition.

The 5️⃣ key takeaways were:

🔸 How structuring training is based upon key principles that are determined by the intent and outcome of the athlete

🔸 Integrating the energy systems and application of specifics that enable the athletes to meet the requirements of their event in both physiological and tactical requirements

🔸 The relationship of strength, speed, and power and how to specifically develop each of the components independently and as an integrated system for performance

🔸 Utilizing nutrition for athletes that aid in competing optimally for their event and also recovering from a day-to-day training cycle.

🔸 Fundamentals of mechanics of movement in sport and the process on how to analyze the quality of movement in their athletes.

It was a huge learning curve for the coaches from 15th to 16th September but definately worth the tenacity.

The final part of the course with Modules 3 and 4 will be held on 6th and 7th October respectively and this will be the last chance for coaches all around South Asia to be apart of this education initiative co-organized by WORLD COACHES ACADEMY

𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗘 𝟮 of the 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 is now open for registration. This Rewa District Swimming Association and WORLD Coaches Academy collaborative program is the second part of the series of education courses geared towards developing and filling knowledge gaps in sports coaching; not limited to only swimming.

In this module, we take a look at how the performance of the athlete can be improved by applying the most appropriate principles and methods for the individual. An important aspect of the chapter deals with the best approaches to enhancing fitness, technique, mental skills, and decision making for athletes. Nutrition, injury and illness prevention, and management round out the look at the individual athlete and his or her performance.

In 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝟭 of the 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, coaching candidates will be establishing their foundations in the following 4 topics of:

1. Functional Anatomy
2. Physiology and Sports Performance
3. Testing the Athlete
4. Coaching Athletes as Individuals

The combination of theoretical knowledge and coaching application will be the key focus during this course and will enable coaches to effectively design precise programs to prepare their athletes for the specific demands of their sport. This will work towards eliminating guesswork and working with athletes individually to meet their training needs so as to enable them to perform optimally.

Rewa District Swimming Association will be hosting the Advanced Certificate in Sports Coaching Course in partnership with international education provider WORLD Coaches Academy & Eugene Lee Coaching

This course provides information about contemporary coaching methodology and practice. It is designed to provide the student with a conceptual blueprint for teaching sport and the fundamentals of sports coaching combining both art and science. The development of personal coaching philosophy will be derived from a process of consciously assessing critical issues and developing a clear rationale for holding to one particular approach as opposed to another.

The goals of the course are to analyze, synthesize, understand, apply, and discuss various aspects of sports coaching including the:

- Application of evidence-based reasoning in sport science to enhance performance
- Integrating and utilizing a holistic method applied to coaching
- Analyzing the theoretical framework necessary for sound ethical and moral reasoning in sports coaching
