Begin by laying flat on your back with your legs extended. Arms should be either sides of you and palms down. With inhalation use your abdominal muscles to lift your lega and entire torso up towards the ceiling. Once you are in shoulder stand you can support your mid back to lift your chest up. Now slowly lower your toes down towards the floor with your legs fully extended.
If you can't touch the floor with the toes, use any prop like bolster, blanket or chair to give your legs a bit more height.
There are some of the challenges in Halasana, but the most important part is your neck. So if you are having pain or injured in neck, avoid Halasana. Do not overstretch your neck. If feeling pain in your neck you can use some blanket to protect from overstretch.
