What happens when industry leaders, policymakers, and regional entrepreneurs come together with one shared goal - building a stronger, more sustainable Uttarakhand?

On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Uttarakhand held an exclusive Industry Interaction & Roadshow at Hotel Vasundhara Palace, Rishikesh, bringing together key stakeholders from across the region to discuss policy changes, operational challenges, and pathways for sustainable growth.

The interaction saw strong participation from leaders across manufacturing, adventure tourism, hospitality, and wellness, with a special focus on the tourism and hospitality sector - one of Uttarakhand’s most promising engines of growth.

🏔️ Representing Treks 'n Rapids our Co-Founder & Chief Adventure Officer, Mr. Pranav Kukreti, who also serves as the Convener - Panel on Tourism, Hospitality and Wellness at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Uttarakhand State Council, highlighted the importance of:

🌱 Sustainable & responsible tourism
🤝 Meaningful engagement and economic participation of local communities
🏡 Creating opportunities that can encourage reverse migration in the Himalayan state
💡 Bringing industry challenges and practical solutions to the policy table

The session was led by the Chairman and Vice Chairman of CII Uttarakhand, who engaged with participants on the opportunities and challenges facing businesses in the region, while highlighting CII’s role in policy advocacy and constructive engagement with governments at the state, regional, and national levels.

From the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), District Tourism Development Officer Mr. S.S. Rana shared various government initiatives and schemes aimed at promoting sustainable and eco-tourism across the state. He also assured tourism and hospitality businesses of continued support in addressing and fine-tuning policy and operational issues raised by industry representatives.

Sustainable tourism isn't just about protecting our mountains. It is about creating better livelihoods, stronger communities, responsible businesses, and a future where people can thrive in the places they call home.

The 2nd meeting of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Uttarakhand State Council’s Tourism, Hospitality & Wellness Panel was held on 12 August 2026 in Dehradun, bringing together the panel members to deliberate on key challenges and practical policy solutions for the State Government.

Treks 'n Rapids was represented by our Co-founder & Chief Adventure Officer, Mr. Pranav Kukreti, who also serves as Convener of the Panel.

We are proud to be part of this committed collective working closely with the government and the industry to build a responsible, resilient and inclusive tourism ecosystem - one that encourages high-value-low-impact investment, creates meaningful employment and self-employment, enables reverse migration, strengthens infrastructure and protects Uttarakhand’s fragile ecology.

The goal is not tourism at any cost, but tourism that creates lasting value for the state, its people and its natural heritage.

We are delighted to announce that our Co-Founder, Mr. Pranav Kukreti, has been elected to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) State Council of Uttarakhand for the year 2026–27.

It was a proud moment for our organisation to be represented at the CII Annual Session and the first State Council Meeting for 2026–27, held today in Dehradun.

We look forward to working closely with the CII State Secretariat and the Uttarakhand State Government to actively contribute towards the development of sustainable tourism, hospitality, and the wellness industry, and to support the overall growth and prosperity of the region in the coming year and beyond.

We were pleased to be part of the 5th Meeting of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Uttarakhand State Council (2025-26) held on 13th January, 2026 in Dehradun.

The meeting featured a productive session with the Department of Labour, where Mr. Anil Petwal, Additional Labour Commissioner, Uttarakhand, briefed members on the New Labour Codes and addressed key industry queries.

During the meeting, CII Uttarakhand welcomed the state government’s decision to restrict the homestay scheme to permanent residents, as outlined in the Uttarakhand Tourism, Travel Business, Homestay & Bed-and-Breakfast Registration Rules - 2026. This progressive step will help promote sustainable tourism, protect Uttarakhand’s cultural and ecological heritage, and empower local communities.

The CII Uttarakhand Tourism, Hospitality & Wellness Panel - comprising leading voices from the state’s tourism and hospitality sector - had earlier outlined several key recommendations aimed at enhancing the efficacy, inclusiveness, and sustainability of the homestay ecosystem. These recommendations focused on strengthening policy clarity, supporting local hosts, and ensuring sustainable growth in tourism offerings across the state.

We are pleased to share that our Co-Founder & Director, Mr. Pranav Kukreti, was invited by Rajasthan Tourism as a speaker to present his views on 'Empowering Rajasthan’s Youth through Sustainable Adventure Tourism'.

The pre-summit on tourism took place on November 27, 2025, in Jaipur as part of the Pravasi Rajasthan Meet, and was attended by Hon. Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, Hon. Dy. Chief Minister Ms. Diya Kumari, Addl. Chief Secretary (Tourism) Mr. Praveen Gupta, Commissioner Tourism Ms. Rukmini Riar, along with several industry leaders and stakeholders.

During his address, Mr. Kukreti emphasized the importance of strengthening skilling initiatives, accelerating infrastructure development, and providing consistent handholding for local entrepreneurs to build a high-value tourism ecosystem.

He further highlighted the need to be 'Vocal for Local', giving priority to local self-employment opportunities while also encouraging responsible investments that generate measurable local jobs and maintain minimal environmental impact.

A truly proud moment for us as we continue contributing toward a sustainable and inclusive future for tourism in India.
