Inter-School/Zonal Annual Athletic Meet 2025 (AAG Girls) was held with great enthusiasm at Playfield Wangam.
The Chief Guest, Principal HSS Vehil Mr. Mohammed Khaleel, graced the occasion and motivated the young athletes with inspiring words.
The meet concluded with a Vote of Thanks by ZPEO Vehil Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar, appreciating the athletes and staff for making it a grand success.

The Inter-School/Zonal Level Annual Athletic Meet 2025 (AAG Boys) was held with great pomp and enthusiasm at the Playfield Wangam, witnessing an overwhelming participation of young athletes from across the zone.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of the Worthy Zonal Education Officer, Vehil, Mr. Anayatullah Lone (Chief Guest), along with distinguished dignitaries including Mr. Aga Mohammad Ashraf, Principal HSS Kanjiullar, Mr. Mohammed Khaleel, Principal HSS Vehil, and the Head of Institution, UPS Wangam Muzaffar Bashir. Their august presence lent grandeur to the occasion.
In their eloquent addresses to the budding sportspersons, the dignitaries invigorated the athletes with words of inspiration, exhorting them to pursue excellence with discipline, perseverance, and indomitable spirit. They emphasized the significance of sports in shaping character, fostering camaraderie, and instilling resilience.
The proceedings culminated with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the worthy ZPEO Vehil, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar who profusely expressed his gratitude to all the esteemed guests, zealous participants, and the indefatigable field staff whose relentless efforts culminated in the successful orchestration of this mega sporting spectacle.

🏆 Thang-Ta Competition Sparks Spirit of Self-Defence & Discipline 🥋

The Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Shopian successfully conducted a two-day Inter-School/District-Level Thang-Ta Competition at Indoor Sports Hall Shopian. The event saw enthusiastic participation from boys and girls representing various institutions across the district.
Thang-Ta, a traditional martial art, is not only a symbol of our cultural heritage but also a powerful form of self-defence. This event emphasized the importance of self-protection, discipline, physical fitness, and mental strength among school-going youth—essential skills in today's world.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Wachkoo Sahib, Incharge Activity, who encouraged young students to adopt martial arts like Thang-Ta for personal empowerment and holistic development.
🏅 Winners and selected players will now go on to represent District Shopian at the Inter-District/Provincial-Level Thang-Ta Competition scheduled at District Kupwara.
