*Inter District Divisional Level Table tennis championship inaugurated at Indoor Stadium Shopian.*
Shopian ,28August 2026 the Inter District Divisional level Table tennis under 17 girls was inaugurated at indoor sports stadium shopian .
The championship was formally inaugurated by *Honorable MLA shopian Mr Shabir Ahmad Kullay* who graced the occasion as the chief guest.His presence added significance and encouragement to the young atheletes and to the sporting event.
Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the efforts of the Deptt. of Youth services and sports in promoting sports and providing opportunities to young boys and girls to excel in different sporting disciplines.He encouraged the participating players to play with dedication ,discipline and true sportsman ship.
Moreover MLA Spn Mr Shabir Ah Kullay gave the earlier speech and welcomed all the participants from different districts and also emphasized the importance of games and sports.He also laid special focus on hardworking and advice the players to work hard to represent themselves at National level.
In the event U17 girls from ten districts from kashmir division participated with zeal and zest.The number of participants from all ten districts were 50 along with their respective es**rt teachers.
One minute silence was observed as a mark of respect and tribute to the departed soul of former Director General Mr Ghazanfar Ali and condolences were offered to the bereaved family.

A large number of students from different institutions of the zone participated in the selection trials with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The event aimed to identify talented players who will represent Zone Imamsahib at higher-level competitions.
The trials were conducted smoothly under the supervision of the officials of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, ensuring transparency and fair selection. The department appreciated the active participation of the students and the cooperation extended by the participating institutions.
