Team Championship 2026 Witnesses Record Participation of 34 Teams and 170 Players.

The Little Tree House-Chess Academy successfully organised the Barak Valley Level Team Championship 2026, witnessing a record-breaking participation of 34 teams and 170 players from across the region. The championship brought together chess enthusiasts and young talents for an exciting battle over the 64 squares.

The tournament featured an impressive cash prize pool of ₹45,000, along with grand trophies and customised award cheques for the winning teams. In a special gesture, all 170 participants were awarded participation medals, making the championship a memorable experience for every player.

After a highly competitive contest, Next Step Chess Academy emerged as the Champion of the Team Championship 2026 receiving the winner's cash prize of ₹15,000. The final team standings were:

1. Champion – Next Step Chess Academy – ₹15,000 Cash Prize
2. Runner-up – En Passant Team-10000 Cash Prize
3. 3rd Position – E4 Chess Academy- 8000
4. 4th Position – Silchar Chess Academy- 7000
5. 5th Position – The Little Tree House Chess Academy-5000

The championship also served as a platform to celebrate and honour the outstanding achievements of talented chess players from Barak Valley. Bhargab Debnath was felicitated for securing 1st Position in the Under-13 category at the State Chess Tournament held at Rangia ,Mrinmoyee Dhar was honoured for achieving 4th Position in the Women's Section while Abhrojyoti Nath was felicitated for winning the Bronze Medal at the ASEAN Chess Championship held in Singapore.

Adding another proud moment for the academy, two students of The Little Tree House Chess Academy, Saptarshi Das and Souvik Dutta, were also felicitated for achieving their first International FIDE Rating in the recently published FIDE Rating List.

The Team Championship 2026 was not only a competition but also a celebration of the growing chess culture in Barak Valley. With a record participation of 34 teams and 170 players the event marked a significant milestone for chess in the region.

The Little Tree House Chess Academy expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all the participating teams, players, parents, coaches, team managers, arbiters, volunteers, supporters, and well-wishers for their immense cooperation and contribution towards making the Team Championship 2026 a grand success.

The championship truly showcased the spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, talent, and the growing passion for chess in Barak Valley.

Spreading Chess Awareness ♟️

Continuing our mission of spreading chess awareness, The Little Tree House Chess Academy, through its Community Outreach Program, reached a government residential school today.

The workshop was highly interactive, with students actively engaging throughout the session. What stood out the most was their genuine curiosity and keen interest in learning chess.

It was wonderful to see how enthusiastically they embraced the game. With the right guidance, encouragement, and opportunities, who knows—perhaps a promising chess player will emerge from among them! 🌟♟️

Meditation and Yoga Session at The Little Tree House-Chess Academy as part of our Student Development Program(SDP)

It is always good to see Chess culture at Sub Urban and Rural areas of the Valley.

As a part of our Community Outreach Program to spread Chess across Northeast India, on Sunday The Little Tree House-Chess Academy reached Sonai Club to provide necessary support to the newly established Subhagya Chess Academy.

Mr.Surajit Singha a Senior member/Player of Cachar District Chess Association and founder of Subhagya Chess Academy officially announced the opening of his academy to provide training to the students across Sonai.

Srinibash Nath Chess Academy & The Little Tree House Chess Academy also supported the newly established Academy at Sonai with few Chess Boards and we also assured all necessary support time and again to promote Chess at Sonai.
